I was on opt from July 2020 to July 2021. I got my h1b approved in 2020 and chose to activate it via the consular processing method. I left the US in Jul 2021 and will finally visit the embassy for stamping tomorrow. If successful, does it mean that I could get another company to apply for a h1b transfer right away? Or do I have to enter the US before the h1b transfer process can start? Thanks!
Heard some people got H1B lottery results already. Hope we all get selected! Best of luck folks 🤠
Anyone stuck in PA because of visa situation?
Anybody from EY GDS India moving/moved on L1B visa recently? Want to get insights from folks who are having similar case!
I was considering moving to Canada due to visa issues and realized how salaries are so much lower than the US? Plus I see the taxes are higher? So does Canada have a lower standard of living?
Hi Folks, my F-1 visa expired earlier this year and I’m currently on STEM OPT. Would love to go back home (India) for two weeks during December/Jan but haven’t had any luck yet with getting appointments to stamp my visa. Anyone else on the same boat?
Do you need to physically be in my home country for h1b visa renewal? Has any fish here sent their passports and other documents overseas to do mail in renewal? Thx you in advance
Hello Team, I just got my I-140 approved. So ready to get off the current job but I also know that I need to wait for 180 days before I can make the switch. As an Indian citizen, waiting for GC is not an option either. I might get an offer soon, should I be asking the new firm to wait until few months before they start filing H1b? Or is it okay if they start the transfer but I will quit only after 6 months?
If issued H1B RFE during H1B transfer how long does it typically take to resolve and get the approval? Filed with premium processing with Fragomen. How long can I expect fragomen to take, uscis processing time, etc?
How many days would I be able to stay If I Country if I quit (not fired) my job that I have a h1b for? Moving to Canada and need some time to close up shop here.
Any one else had issues with Labor Market Test in GC process? If so did they succeed next time? I was told the labor market test failed and they'll have to redo it. I just have a year to max out my h1b 6years..
Any Indians here have intel on whether consulates in India are stamping H1b renewals? Now that the travel ban has been lifted starting Nov, wondering whether it’s safe to travel back home, renew my expired stamp, and come back to the US
Found out today that one of the most promising senior in our office is leaving tomorrow because he didn't get his visa. Why we can't keep talented people here in this country?
Working remotely from Canada on tourist visa? I am planning to take a 15 day trip to Canada from US but most of that time I will be at my relatives place and not going out much. I was thinking I'll work from there for a week and take rest off? Tourists are generally not authorized to work but this is remote work and my employer has no offices in Canada.
Going for h1b visa interview. I-797 is Valid till 2020. I have been on bench since 06/07. What is the best way to answer “what do you do” question?
I need to file a work visa petition in a Schengen state. The visa is for a year and I need insurance for it. Does the Axa Schengen multi trip works for me? Because coverage says 90 days consecutive. Or should I buy 2 180 consecutive ones?
Just signed an offer with FAANG and initiating H1B transfer. Found that premium processing suspended so could take 4-8 months! Lawyer said I could start just on “receipt” instead of approval...
What is the maternity/paternity leave policy at your firm (in the US)? EY is 16 weeks for both. What is the ideal amount of time for leave in your opinion?
New joiner in a few weeks…Does MBB allow expensing for overtime meals when working from home?
Omg I'm an enthusiast. Covid dreams come true
Anyone have perspective on how MBB (specifically Bain) benefits are better than big 4? I heard Bain contributes 4.5% of salary to your 401k regardless of any employee contributions, which is great. Any other big perks that make their benefits package superior to others (eg. Big 4)?
Fuck delta for not putting precheck on my ticket and RDU for not accepting my global entry card as proof
If I’m going to drop the bag on an mba I feel like I need to know what I’m getting myself into post-mba and that I’ll like it. What doors does an mba open? What careers do folks with mbas work in?
My husband has about 6 years of healthcare management experience, specifically in implementing technologies (especially in patient access, clinical operations, and revenue cycle). He has a track record of growth at his current organization, and is looking to transition into healthcare consulting. Any advice, help, or referrals are appreciated!
I recently switched employers. I used to have Kaiser Permanente health insurance & loved my doctors. Have been with them for almost 3 years. My new insurance isn’t so great, but because of employer contribution, it’s affordable to go that route. Has anyone paid for health insurance out of pocket? Thinking of just paying for it to keep KP, but it’s a difference of ~$200. Or just find new doctors?
If I’m thinking of applying to a client I worked on in tax do I need to let anyone know before I apply? Is it okay to wait if/when I receive an offer?
Hello everyone, I currently have one semester left before I graduate with my masters in cybersecurity. I have one internship experience with NJ homeland security and I am currently looking for full time roles in the cyber consultant world. I can use some advice or guidance!
When is it best to leave big 4 Investment/Financial Services tax in terms of years/level?
Anyone else (who is NOT in big consulting/tech/banking), run the numbers of when they'll be out of MBA debt and realize it was not worth it? If you had an income of 120k, it would be quite difficult to save for a house/retirement/etc while paying down debt for 10 years.
Final round at Bain including 2 case interviews, a 45 mins presentation interview and a 50 mins math test... is that normal?
on PTO today. ate a gummy after lunch. remembered right after it kicked in that i had a client presentation in 15 minutes. with the cmo 🙃
i have to post about this saga again, because i’m shooketh. after 4 rounds + assignment + being strung along with no concrete feedback for a month, i finally get on the phone with the hiring manager. says i wowed and impressed them so much with my work that they threw out everyone else’s, kept mine, and are starting a new candidate pool to have someone to compare me against, RATHER than hire me. they said theyd come back to me with a final decision within the month.
