Common sense

I mostly agree with the left side of this except CNN should be more left and MSNBC should be farther down. Rueters has been my go-to lately. I don’t really consume conservative media so can’t really speak to the right side.

CNN should skew more to the left.
The front page of their website is borderline propaganda at times. Fox is no different

That is an extremely biased chart.
Correct. Look at the placement of reason.com, its hyper libertarian, but labeled conservative. Yet democracynow, which is known for having Nader, Stein, Chomsky on, is closer to news and not hyper left analysis.
People always post this picture as if it is gospel but the creator herself admits that she’s moderately liberal and that her ranking of these news sources is subjective.
Economist voice hasn’t shifted much in 10 years but the axes have shifted right effectively moving Economist left eg openly critical of Boris and Donald. They were probably always a bit left of center in the US and centrist by EU standards. Now left in both, and roughly symmetrically opposite of WSJ news (not WSJ opinion).

Ny post isn’t even a real paper. They need to use lots of pictures for their audience.
NY post is pure entertainment, but unlike Fox News, it’s pretty entertaining even to me (center-left) - at least on occasion.
CNN is way too centric here. They’ve gone to what MSNBC was a few years ago.
The fact that OAN is considered more factual than fox is laughable. OAN makes fox look like MSNBC. Also how is Drudge opinion? It literally just links to pretty much every website on the chart across the spectrum.
Agree with McK1 - there’s no way OAN is more factual than FoxNews... this chart is very off.
Glad to see NPR and PBS where they are
Where's The Weather Channel ?!?!!?

Yeah.....super trustworthy
It’s on the internet so it’s scientifically-backed
WSJ skews republican??? Uhhh
WSJ in general is center. Opinion is right
Fox News is clearly not placed rightly. How can you place Fox News next to Drudge report?
I’ll place it right beside National Review
So we agree it’s a race to the bottom. You give the republicans the edge, not sure I agree based in what I see from the left. If we don’t get this all on a different track soon it won’t matter.
CNN has moved increasingly left in a desperate attempt at ratings. fox has moved further right and farther down, having gone so far as to finally drop “fair and balanced” as their tag line and interrupting their regularly scheduled programming to let a delirious child go on hour long rants.
There’s a more current version of this chart (and an interactive one) available here: https://www.adfontesmedia.com/?v=402f03a963ba
I don’t know about you guys, I swear by infowars 🤣
S1 - yes, they must be really fools if remotely think I wasn’t joking.
Great post. Just needs some refinement. Plz fix.
I’d nitpick a few, mainly in the middle.
- In the current climate, Economist feels centrist or a bit left
- I’d move the Hill right a bit and down (mainly for misleading headlines)
- I’d move CNN up
- I’d move Fox News left (but not up)
This doesn’t distinguish between News and Editorial which is a very important distinction. WSJ for instance would plot slight right for news and far right for opinion/editorial... and they do a good job distinguishing which is which right at the top of the page. Fox News stays down low because they make no attempt to distinguish and, I’d say, actively blur the line.
Not seeing NRA-TV. Assuming that would be green box (neutral, high quality)? Probably a bit above Bloomberg?
