What do you think about Sweden’s approach?
Still a bit inconclusive but it is showing that is somewhere in the middle. Higher than all of Scandinavia but better than Italy and Spain. The big caveat here is that both the government did not force strict rules but provided strict guidelines that in general people are following. It is basically saying “hey you are responsible adults”. Much different culture and don’t know if it is applicable in the US where a more individualist culture is prevalent.
Also the healthcare system has not seen any real strain as compared to that in Italy or Spain. And comparing both their system and the US, it is obvious they are much more prepare in per capita basis.
Worth looking into to be honest but in my opinion any lifting of restrictions should come with increase testing capabilities to isolate potential clusters or hot spots. And I believe we are not there yet.

OP I’m with you, but brace yourself.
I don’t agree with the protests, but we all have to remember how much privilege we have to be able to work from home. I can’t imagine what it is like for those who have lost their jobs, many of whom were likely already living paycheck to paycheck with multiple dependents, etc. And while I personally agree the shutdown should continue I understand why some people are protesting - they are desperate and see no other option.

Yes, I’m very saddened by this picture because I know that when Karen ends up in a hospital, this nurse will still risk his own life to take care of her.
I agree if people are desperate and without option I can see why the protest but there is data to back the claim that this is not spur of the moment people that are desperate but more a coordinated event of people and groups with other agendas. Having a hard time to believe that politics is not involved in this rather than hardship.
