Omg I’m literally thinking about the same thing right now. Help!! Where can I buy a good reasonably priced sofa that’s not from Craigslist nor Ikea???
I went to a local furniture store in the suburbs of the city I live and got a $750 attractive, comfy sleeper sofa. I recommend avoiding the chains and going for local suppliers — expect to pay slightly more than ikea but you can keep it below $800 or below $600 for a non sleeper normal size sofa
Bobs Discount Furniture and Valu City. The names tell you all you need to know! 😬
My yoga teachers was kinda saggy so I just have two floor cushions right now
Try Craigslist!
Get second hand!
I purchase solid hardwood furniture on craigslist, but I won't touch anything used that has upholstery (or mattresses) - OK from a family member or trusted friend.
Ended up getting an ikea sofa with chaise and has been a good deal. Comfy for naps
mind sharing which model?
Costco, Sams Club (sometimes)
Wayfair. Many price points and styles.
M2. I second Costco and bought one there. It was leather and cost a lot. After 5 years it started to peel. I returned it for a full refund. Costco is the best. Bought another couch from them. Hopefully the new one stays in good condition.
If you live in a metropolitan area, you should seriously consider Craigslist - I’ve found lots of nice furniture on there that’s barely used (e.g., Restoration Hardware) for 50% off or more. I especially love to profit off of rich people’s mistakes - bought a couch that won’t fit through their doorway, chairs aren’t the perfect shade of gray - their loss can be your gain! 😂
Couple years ago, i bought an American Leather sofa from a Bloomingdale’s outlet for $1600, which retails for $4k+. The thing is so much sturdier than my other sofa from IKEA, no regrets...
Burrow
I go full tatami, my dude.
Honestly check out Facebook Marketplace. I haven’t bought anything there but recently sold *several* like new, never used furniture(like accent chairs and loveseats which were mostly uses as storage 🙈) because we were moving out of state to a smaller place.
