Firs year associate at AmLaw20 firm here. Something at work has been bothering me, and I wanna get a head check to make sure I’m not making a big deal of nothing. So I am officially staffed on several cases. But lately I have been getting highly broken down, menial tasks related to a case that I am not staffed on. Even though that case has another first year associate on it. (cont’d in comments).

I have recently been made a director of my father's company due to him having terminal cancer. I work with my brother(not a director) too and we struggle to get along without my dad about. I don't like thinking about my dad not being around but feel I need to have a plan in place and am finding it all stressful as well as emotional. Has anyone been in a similar situation, how did you cope?

Feeling a bit lost lately. I’ve had some major life accomplishments recently and I feel they go unnoticed. I’m super stressed with work. Everyone has been super negative lately. I’ve tried talking to a few close people only to have them railroad me with their problems (not in the trying to relate way). Every time I try to take a vacation from work it gets pushed aside. Im just tired and need a break and people to realize it.

Has any built/bought an at home ice plunge? If so, do you enjoy it and use it frequently? I’ve always taken cold showers off and on but I’m at the point now where I can take 10 minute showers with the coldest water my shower has. I’m thinking about buying a bunch of ice this afternoon to try it out in a tub but that’s not feasible long term.

Anyone have tips for dealing with pain caused by stress/anxiety? For over two years I’ve had this unexplained back/shoulder/neck pain and the doctors couldn’t pin it on anything. I transitioned out of running my own business and into a traditional role and the pain immediately disappeared. Now that I’ve been in the role for 6 months I’m having flare ups again. I’ve narrowed it down to be stress induced. I’ve started therapy, and I do strength training 3x a week. Any more tips? Apps for stress?
