Quick advice on financing a used car? Any recommendations/lessons learned? Thanks! Happy to provide additional info
Kamala Harris’ “history lesson” on Abe Lincoln to avoid the “packing the courts” question was another manufactured lie during the debate https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/kamala-harris-dishonesty-on-abe-lincoln/
Happy new year!! Off to the races again - but not before you acknowledge the lessons learned from 2018!
NH educators: is it true what I’ve read about the system to report teachers whose lessons include “divisive” content (this policy is supported by moms for Liberty who offer cash awards for turning in teachers) What’s your experience with this? Is this for real?
Curious to know if there are folks out there who are genuinely scared of driving like me? I’m in my early 30s and I’ve been terrified of getting my driver’s license for years because it seems everyone drives so fast and I’m scared of crashing. This is now starting to affect my relationship because my s/o thinks I’m just lazy to get the license when I’ve reiterated that I’m scared and even tried doing lessons but i wasn’t comfortable. How does one overcome this fear?
What would you recommend to a new manager? What are some lessons you have learned along the way?
Are there any National Board certified Middle Childhood Generalists out there that could give me some ideas on a DOK 4 science lesson with the human body? I teach 4th grade math, and I have a great idea for math involving group work. However, I’m lost when it comes to science and showing more than one teaching strategy since they want to see group work. HELP! Ha 😆
Anyone have children that have common core math? I find their lessons to be so odd and made out to be more complicated than it needs to be.
How many teachers set their own curriculum, meaning that you come up with everything you teach and assess? Beyond that, how many teachers are expected to change up their content almost every year? As a high school English teacher, I develop everything myself or collaborate with my (frankly amazing) coworkers. We are asked constantly to find new, modern books to buy and to develop curriculum around them (because our subject is more skill based). Wondering if other districts/subjects do the same.
I want to brush up my design skills. Especially illustrator and photoshop. Any tips for great tutorials, lessons, online universities etc. Thank you!
After yesterday, this is my thought: I need to check with my students mentally first, the lesson can wait or be done tomorrow. Oxford High School is 21 miles from my school.
Dear friends Help me finding a job in development sector. I'm interested in Consulting space. Going through a rough phase and empty pockets have taught me a great lesson. Being unemployed wasn't a choice but mandatory to look after my family. Since, everything has reached to it's pace, I'm ready to pull up my socks for new assignments. Happy to have a quick conversation on career guidance and also shaping my career ahead. I could see people from prestigious organisations are here. Pls help.
Taking a new job as the CFO of a $40m revenue company. I’ve never worked outside of PA, posted a JE, etc. so pretty nervous/green when it comes to the day to day management of an accounting/finance department. Any tips or lessons learned you’d be willing to share with me?
Welcome! This group is all things 4th grade! We can discuss lesson issues, lesson help and suggestions, as well as any other subjects that will help keep us 4th grade teachers sane.
Here’s a reminder for my perfectionists, first/second years, and those of us questioning if we’re doing enough. Your lessons do not need to be incredible this year. Fall back on some of your favorites, do what you can, and make sure you’re allocating time for yourself everyday. Yes everyday or else you will go insane. End each day by saying you did your best and no matter what mistakes you make or if lessons flop, try again the next day. You. Are. Human.
My grandfather passed away a couple months ago and I just learned I’ll be inheriting around 200k euro. What is the smartest way to invest this money? Is it smart to not spend any of it and just put it all away? I am 23 years old. Thank you in advance for the advice and I’d appreciate any personal stories / lessons learned as well.
Ok, let's go there...Gas! How do you handle it with kids, and then if you, yeah, YOU have to pass it!? I have a gas corner for my Kindergarten kids to go to, even if it's in the middle of a lesson.
Anyone heard of Fiddler.ai in the Bay Area? Thoughts on that place and their tech? Company culture? Anything is helpful. Of course I looked them up in Google, but I want to know more.
Looking for insurance recommendations. Anything out there better than Nationwide or Lemonade? Picking my pup up this weekend.
I got laid off 6 months ago. Next week I finally start a new in-house job in the media industry. Looking back, I’m pretty sure I walked the plank off a sinking ship. But I’ll miss you crazy fishes 😘
Can anyone on here connect me to a recruiter at Apple that they had a good experience with? I was referred to a position that I think I'm a great fit for, but it's been months and I haven't heard back one way or another. I'd like to give this another shot through a recruiter this time. Any leads appreciated.
Do companies weigh certs more than hands-on experience? (ie: open source contributions, projects, etc) Asking b/c I'm joining big 4 in cyber and wanted to know whether I should prioritize certs over developing my skillet through projects? Thanks

I’ve been at my current firm for 6 months and leaving. I’m going to have to repay a portion of my signing bonus, which is fine, but how do they collect this? Do they withhold my final paycheck and send me an “invoice” for what’s left?

What are the interview questions asked for a lead business analyst at legato healthcare? Is the company good enough? Perks and benefits?
Any beginner book recommendations for general strategy consulting work? Approaches, timelines, key business finance metrics? Anything that might be helpful for someone who knows nothing lol
Pretty torn between CSR and Amex Gold cards. Ignoring annual fees, I’m torn between points earning potential. With most of my budget going towards discretionary spending (dining, groceries, drinks) the Gold has an appeal, yet CSR’s broader definition for travel might even out the point earning potential (ie covering full cost of one Airbnd for several friends would be a big point generator). Are there any other major factors I might not be considering? I’ve gone thru the TPG review FWIW.
Hey guys, so I was debating with my gf earlier and she claimed that folks in finance, consulting or IT should be able to afford a 700K condo in about 3 years after graduating from college (assuming absolutely no parental help and having to pay for everything). Is this true? 😂 Deloitte McKinsey & Company Bain & Company
Hi Fishes, Is it possible to process h1b as cap exempt if I had worked on USA in h1b status for few months and if the visa is expired now, once I join a new employer.
Is solution engineering a good job (for example at Salesforce) and how is long term career progression?
Are Exit interviews A waste of time ? Are they an opportunity to learn what you could have done to keep your team members a bit longer, or are they a waste of time ?
Guys, after following up for feedback on my final interview, the recruiter sent me the below email: "Thank you for reaching out! I have received the feedback and will give you a call in the morning." What could the call be about, an offer or not? Please help 😴
I feel so lost in my career. I have three years of B4 experience (1 year audit, 2 years risk compliance) and I absolutely hate what I do. I’m a high performer yet I have zero motivation. I don’t see myself becoming partner & I also dont see myself being a controller/CFO in industry. I feel like I made the wrong choice but accounting is all I know. Anyone else go thru this? What type of role/industry did you pivot to?
