I think nothing in particular to worry about, if everyone was drinking you will likely not stand out too much. I think people don’t listen or remember much even when they are sober 😂 I think the bigger “problem” is that you got to the black out state and that’s a dangerous state to be in the work situation nowadays, when people don’t need much to report one another (eg, had a few friends being reprimanded at work for saying “hey guys” to their teams). So just maybe stick to 2-3 drinks next time and you should be all good!

Happened to me. Unfortunately more than once. It’s more than likely that nothing happened, but you just have to deal with the guilt/shame/embarrassment that’s created entirely by you more than anything. We feel bad when we lose control. You’ll feel bad for one or two days but it’ll get better.

Thanks so much for saying this. It really helped.

As long as you didn’t do anything inappropriate verbally or physically, next week is a new week. Just be better next time!

Happened. People don’t forget. It sucks, but I usually act as if it never happened.

Curious to know if there are folks out there who are genuinely scared of driving like me? I’m in my early 30s and I’ve been terrified of getting my driver’s license for years because it seems everyone drives so fast and I’m scared of crashing. This is now starting to affect my relationship because my s/o thinks I’m just lazy to get the license when I’ve reiterated that I’m scared and even tried doing lessons but i wasn’t comfortable. How does one overcome this fear?

How many teachers set their own curriculum, meaning that you come up with everything you teach and assess? Beyond that, how many teachers are expected to change up their content almost every year? As a high school English teacher, I develop everything myself or collaborate with my (frankly amazing) coworkers. We are asked constantly to find new, modern books to buy and to develop curriculum around them (because our subject is more skill based). Wondering if other districts/subjects do the same.

Happy to have a quick conversation on career guidance and also shaping my career ahead. I could see people from prestigious organisations are here. Pls help.

Taking a new job as the CFO of a $40m revenue company. I’ve never worked outside of PA, posted a JE, etc. so pretty nervous/green when it comes to the day to day management of an accounting/finance department. Any tips or lessons learned you’d be willing to share with me?

Here’s a reminder for my perfectionists, first/second years, and those of us questioning if we’re doing enough. Your lessons do not need to be incredible this year. Fall back on some of your favorites, do what you can, and make sure you’re allocating time for yourself everyday. Yes everyday or else you will go insane. End each day by saying you did your best and no matter what mistakes you make or if lessons flop, try again the next day. You. Are. Human.

Pretty torn between CSR and Amex Gold cards. Ignoring annual fees, I’m torn between points earning potential. With most of my budget going towards discretionary spending (dining, groceries, drinks) the Gold has an appeal, yet CSR’s broader definition for travel might even out the point earning potential (ie covering full cost of one Airbnd for several friends would be a big point generator). Are there any other major factors I might not be considering? I’ve gone thru the TPG review FWIW.
