I would recommend the Lightweight Synchilla Snap-T Fleece Pullover, (I personally feel like it Patagonia's staple product). I think it's cute and comfortable. But if you're actually into hiking and outdoorsy stuff then maybe look for something that's related to that
Honestly it’s all great stuff. I have some long sleeve tees I really like. Couple of vests I love. A nana puff jacket I use all winter and a light R1 jacket I use the rest of the year
Patagonia is subpar but has a high rep because of VC bois & green berets.
Buy Salomon, HH, Smartwool, or even North Face — all are generally superior to Patagucci.
You’re just wearing a name at this point so get a vest like the rest of these Teletubbies.
Eh. They fall into the same category as Arc for me (alpinist/diver) — some of their gear is very good — top of the line.
But A LOT of their gear suffers from poor quality control and A LOT of dudes really are just buying the brand at this point because actual adventurers wear other items with the same logo on it.
If I was advising a new guy on what to buy, without examining the stuff he’s buying myself, I’d say Mammut, Salomon, and Smartwool have the best QC and most consistently high level of product quality. And for office bees, none of the above are necessary. It’s all a silly flex.
What do you do? Like what kind of hobbies are you into?
If you’re an outdoorsy person, get what gear you need.
Otherwise, their fleece and jackets tend to be a staple piece in a lot of people’s closets. They’re functional and great for every day use.
The thing you shouldn’t get is the vest. I bought one with my own money and it’s pretty useless. If you get one for free from your company, then it’s fine
As an old co-worker of mine once said (keep in mind I’m in Alaska) “Why are you wearing a vest? Is it like winter on your chest and summer on your arms?” Lol
I have Patagonia long underwear I bought in 2005 or so. Of course I don’t use it a lot but it’s still going strong.
Their nano puff jacket is basically the standard for light weight synthetic insulated puffy.
Heh, good to know. I do wilderness backpacking and actually haven’t ever owned a puffy yet, though it seems like everyone else does in that activity. I’ve gotten by fine with my rain jacket and layers. A wool cap and a neck buff work well. And I do wear the hood if needed. But I could see myself liking a puffy to be warm in camp.
