I have two employees (they are in a relationship) that are both being terminated for various performance reasons. On the day of their scheduled (termination) meetings they both called out of work due to illness. Is it unprofessional to terminate via email at that point? Or should I wait until the next scheduled work day?

Moms, my Nanny of 1 month had some papers today where it looked like she was preparing for a job interview. What would you do? Ask her or start looking for someone new? We pay $21/hr with all usual benefits.
At what point do you elevate your peer’s mistakes to managers? It feels like my teammates elevate each other frequently but I don’t like to get involved because it seems like tattling. Do managers value knowing who on their team is messing up in small ways?
I was supposed to fly out for a final interview bext week. Hiring manager said they would pay for my flight but recruiter had to verify. Now I was just notified interview was changed to an online format and asked what my salary expectations were. Do you think that shows a loss of interest if no longer wanting to meet in person?

Hi fishes! My spouse is planning to go to India but we would need to get her visa stamped before coming back. I see that getting appointment is such a huge problem right now. Can we get her visa stamped from a different country? In this case, we were considering Qatar, she grew up there and has her brother there. For what it’s worth she qualifies for Dropbox in India. How do I find out if Qatar works in our case?Deloitte

Most of the people (of both genders) stare at me. I am pretty sure that I don't have weird looks but don't know why it's happening

Has anyone self- trained for SPHR or SHRM? Without purchasing the SHRM study guide? How did you decide between SPHR or SHRM SCP?
Does anyone have advice on what legal implications could be faced when an employee has sex at the workplace with a client?
Hi, new hr manager here. I have a bit of a situation at work lol an attorney has been making insensitive comments to our support staff, is generally distracting and over sociable and I’ve gotten some neg feedback about him. I spoke with him this morning and this afternoon, he went up to his legal assistant with the Amber Heard filter on Snap, started asking her what was wrong, she didn’t like being filmed, was upsetand ended up working from home the rest of the day. I’m not sure how to move fwd…
I work with HR/Recruitment at an aquistion company. Most of our subsidiaries are small accounting firms, and we struggle with turnover/recruitment of certified public accountants. Mergers, tech and change affect the way we work and we’re overloaded with inexperienced graduates. As a result, the stereotypical accountant feels threatened, overworked and underpaid. Could really need some advice on how to deal with this issue.
I work at a Manufacturing company. We currently have our hourly team members clock in and out at a physical clocking machine. We would like to change this since one of our values is trust and it makes our team members feel like we don't trust them. What other ways are companies having hourly team members clock in/out?
Hi! For those who host intern programs, how do you structure their performance management system/performance criteria?
I don’t quite understand why people in HR are so against HR roles being remote? You can still do your job as an HR professional from a remote setting. Can someone shed some light? Maybe I’m not looking at it from all points of view.
SPHR exam- has anyone ever been “randomly selected” for an application audit? This just happened to me and the sheer amount of effort that is going to go into collecting all the documents almost makes me not want to follow through. Since I didn’t finish undergrad, they’re asking for a copy of my high school diploma or transcript and that itself is going to be an absolute nightmare to get hold of. Guess I’m not really looking for a solution here, just venting.
Hi All - I received a verbal offer from a big 4 organization about 11 days ago. I keep being told that they are waiting on final approval before they can give me the written offer. I am stating to get anxious, as I want to give my notice to my current employer and have another offer that expires at the end of this week, which I did share with the recruiter. Is this a normal timeline for these firms? Starting to get nervous that we may not get final approval. Thank you!
As an experienced, SHRM certified HRBP , I would just like some feedback on your opinion of the differences in the roles between an HRBP an HR Manager besides the obvious that the manager should have direct reports. I am an HRBP and work in step with 3 HRM’s. They all 3 just got out of cycle raises of between 5-20% 😳 and I received nothing. I am quite aware of our HR code that salary is confidential but I was told about this. Would you be looking for other employment? Or stay?
Looking to revamp a new manager program that is focused on project management and business development. Can anyone recommend a coach that has experience working with management consultants?
Hi we are looking to implement a new Gamification program for referrals. I was curious on who else may have this type of rewards program in place and who do you use and how well has it help increase referrals for your organization.
Anyone out there that's moved from a general HR career to more of an HR Analyst or HR Systems Analyst path? Any tips on what I should focus on in my current role that would help make the transition or what to showcase in a resume?
Unfortunately the company I work for doesn't do a great job at utilizing data to make or even backup decisions. Our systems are also not user friendly and you have to go through corporate for everything. Any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated!
Hello! I recently got into National Society for Leadership and Success. I am wondering if this is attractive to recruiters or something they look over.
I have a concern...most likely a moral one. I work in a small tech company. Some Developers have reached out to HR regarding other companies offering them double or more of their current Salary. Our HR has extenden counter offers to these developers and also an "Adendum" to their contract where they are now bound to the company for one year and have to provide 90 days notice. Never the less, the company is añso looking for their replacements. Is this a comun practice?
How many steps are there for the candidate process within your companies? For example, we have RS, then HM, then a virtual onsite of an hour presentation followed by 1:1s with each team member. This often results in a 4 hour step. Last step is a conversation with the CEO. Is this considered normal or a good amount of time in its entirety, to vet a potential colleague?
Good day everyone,
I'm a recent grad who landed in Canada with a small dream of becoming a human resource professional and work in corporate sector.
I'm trying to land on a job from last 10 months, after applying to 100s of jobs, been on so many interviews I am still not getting anywhere.
I've started to loose all hopes!
It is my humble request to all experienced people, If anyone could guide me in right direction that would be highly appreciated.
