Hi guys I have an offer from Accenture and no issues in terms of CTC, job profile or other things. The only thing I am skeptical about is the job security. Do they really get rid of employees in a regular basis or the covid situation was a one time measure? This would probably be the last switch in my career and security would be of utmost importance to me. Please advise

Is it hard for anyone else to ask for a raise?
I think it's not wisdom to make decisions based off of a virus that will be around forever. Take your chances and live your dreams!
It’s true, COVID is the new flu. There will be variant after variant after variant. This is the new normal.
I live in EU and it’s beautiful. The media makes EU crazier than it looks these days with covid and our politicians here don’t help sometimes.
Netherlands is one of the best places to live in the EU, at some point they were offering less taxes even for expats. If you’ve always lived in the US I would highly recommend the EU experience.
You will learn a lot about different cultures, you will travel a lot and you will discover yourself a lot more.
Pandemic is something we have to live with, I wouldn’t let it affect your plans. However If you’re still worried start remote from US then move when you want, we mostly work from home these days in the EU so I don’t see why not.
All the best
I 100% agree with this post - I'm UK based and I'm so much happier in the US, and there's so much opportunity to do more and explore. I would take the offer OP and give yourself a whole new experience!
Unless you’re going to HK or somewhere else with ridiculously tight rules it shouldn’t rlly factor
I would see if maybe you can start off remotely, but if not I think as long as your vaccinated and take percausions you should be ok.
Most of the EU is giving employees the ability to work from home. They aren’t really pushing employees to be the office. So you should be okay.
I am French and used to live in France until I moved to various countries as an expat. The only thing I'd advise you to check is your health insurance overseas in case you get sick and must be hospitalised or fligh back. Check out what is covered or not, and how you can easily access medical services.
I feel like we will be dealing with COVID for a while at this point, so if you want to relocate and you’re vaccinated you should go for it. I think we have a while to go before it’s something we can stop worrying about altogether.
I wouldn't let the pandemic prevent you from pursuing your goals. Omicron isn't nearly as severe as the prior strains, thankfully. I think we may be on the verge of recovery soon.
It depends what you think is risky. If your concerned about the potential to contract omicron, I don’t think that is any more or less likely anywhere. If you are concerned about shutdowns and economic impact potential to the company, the good news is they have survived thus far and are hiring to that alone would say they are not on the verge of going under. If you are hired and travel restrictions are place right before you should go, they would likely accommodate with a delay. I would make a decision on what if and just go for what you want and let the rest fall into place. Good luck!
Where are y’all finding these overseas jobs?
I just apply on LinkedIn!
Honestly I would jump in especially if it's a fantastic opportunity. The learning and experience can't be beat. I would not let Covid be a factor, it's everywhere and you might as well be wherever you want to be! Personally I would not think twice if it was a location I've been to (and love- Madrid and London 🤗) and have a clear understanding of culture and how I would fit.
Take a trip, get a feel, expand your network, move.
YOLO!
You will be fine. Or not. Anyway, not at a higher risk than there, that's for sure!
Where is abroad?
Oh wow that’s so cool! Best of luck to you if you decide to go.
The only risk is possibly having borders shut down and not being able to travel back and forth
I’d absolutely take it
Omicron is a nothingburger, just go.
I’m just worried about lockdowns in the country I’m going to - the NL has a lockdown until Jan 14 and who knows how long that will last
