Got a message from an EY Parthenon recruiter, currently an SVP (manager, or I think EYP calls it director?) at 310K TC, happy - should I take the call?

Always take the call if there is a even a chance you might be interested. You’re happy at your current spot so there is literally no downside

If comp is what you are interested in, then don’t bother. Other places likely pay better but will extract their pound of flesh. Ask me, I know;)

I should have tried harder for AP after my MBA.

like

P1, you read a couple of posts on the titles so I guess that makes you an expert on how AP operates. Everyone does grunt work at AP. There are MD's that have to do grunt work. The top heavy model only works because we're expected to know what work we should be doing. The "analyst" is expected to do the work and own it, which includes presenting and getting buy in from the client. I don't know if the model is better or worse than at other firms, all I know is that it's a bit different and suits different people. And let's be honest, nobody fresh out of MBA is making any important decisions.

like

I wouldn’t personally. Would be stunned if they could even come close to matching your current comp

like

Wow I didn’t know AP paid THAT well. What level does MBA level come at? And what’s TC at that level if you know?

like

Congrats OP. You’re killing it. Maybe they’ll bring you in higher than their equivalent level

No point if you are happy

like

Can’t hurt to take it but AP pays very well compared to other firms so I have a hard time believing comp would be on that level

Take call but you need senior director to make it worth it. But you are close to top of SVP range so I imagine you should make Director at AP soon? So still might not be worth lol

There’s still room in the svp range

It’s a call. No news. It’s like asking people whether you should eat tomorrow.

Take it or don’t. There is no try

Like others said, take the call. You will know by the first call whether you want to pursue or not. How many years as svp and how close to director are you?

2 years into SVP, targeting director this year or next.

No shot they’ll be able to match comp

OP (or other AP fish) you come in as an SVP or VP? Trying to get a sense of what salary progression looks like with internal promotion and if that's as negotiable as starting salary. Thanks

Come in at VP post mba at 210-225 + 25 signing. Average yoy increase is 10% & 20% in promotion years
