Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.

That is known to be incredibly bad for morale for upper management. They want you to do the new job, they don’t want to PAY you for the new job. Ask for a specific date (by one month or three months) for the pay to kick in and then start looking if it doesn’t
I’ve been offered this and turned it down- I don’t do extra work without the extra pay

Was money promised but just not now? I find this to be strange.
Money is promised in a timeline that I’m not happy with (let’s say not this calendar year). Big global agency that is not in some sort of raise freeze. Lots of talk about how much I’m valued but you know the saying - talk is cheap. Definitely leaving me with a very bad taste in my mouth and questioning why I’m busting my ass so much.
