You should always fight a ticket.

Your best bet is to get an attorney, not sure if Deloitte has the Hyatt legal plan, but something like this would be covered. If not, you can consider paying for an attorney yourself, but then you have to outweigh the costs of that and potentially not having it dismissed versus paying the fine (plus points). Unless you have a strong case with proof I’m not sure what you can say in court representing yourself (the lawyers typically look for a flaw in the ticket), but worth a shot as the cop may not show in which case it will be dismissed. Also, if you end up going without a lawyer you should try and reschedule as much as possible. They usually group the cops cases all on the same day so if you reschedule chances are it may just be your case and they might not show.

Disagree about getting an attorney if you want to fight it. You’ll spend more money on that than fees. IF you want to fight, just try delaying the court date (I think you can twice) and that improves the odds the officer won’t even show up. Then it’s automatically dismissed. This works well especially in large counties like Dallas. Or just freaking take defensive driving. It’s like $150 total and ticket stays off record.

Check the jurisdiction in which the ticket was issued and see if deferred disposition is offered. Not the same as the defensive driving option and each county has different rules. If it was in Travis (Austin) Harris/Montgomery (Houston area), Dallas, Tarrant, or Collin counties, I do know of a few attorneys who can make these things go away for a nominal amount (usually $75-100ish). I’ve gotten plenty of speeding tickets in Texas, yet I still have a perfect driving record. If wanna DM me the town or country, I probably have a guy who can help you out.

Get an attorney

You request a date to fight the ticket and if the cop don’t show up you win, period. The other option is when you go to court, the secretary or admin person sitting outside will ask you to pay the ticket and they will remove the points. Which is not bad in my point of view, this way the ticket will not go to your record or make a ding on insurance.

Fight it. Most times they won’t show and you get out scot free.

You should fight it! The worst they can say is no, the best the ticket might go away due to lack of proof

Were you going over 93 and/or in a school zone? If not, pay the court fee (generally same cost as an attorney anyway), take defensive driving, and it goes away. For just a normal ole’ speeding ticket, Texas allows you to do away with a ticket every 365 days or so by taking defensive driving. I agree with you on principle, but sometimes the practical expedient is the way to go.

Wtf am I reading, there are 4 different posted speeds that do not have any clear connection. A) if claimed 70 within 45 zone, you admitted to speeding 25 over and are guilty. B) if claimed 65 within 45, you admitted to speeding 20 over and are guilty. C) if your alleged speed is 25, I don’t see why you should get a speeding ticket.

I came for my MBA to the US in 2010. Had zero worries about my future because MBA was sure shot to my American dream of settling in the USA. Didnt even check the weather, was just glad that the school ranked in top 30. Just saw the average salary and thought I can get that too, and almost did. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. Wasn't scared to drive anywhere in the country, even had drinks in local bars in tomahawk,wi. Don't even recognise this country anymore. Online mba, f that!!!
