I feel that my healthcare data science experience is hurting my tech profile. I was being approached by FAANG recruiters previously, but now, i get interview requests from some random consultants. How do i change this? I am also looking to exit the healthcare industry.
I know I posted 3 wks ago about house #4. But a week later I got the inspection report & it was a no go. Lesson learned. But this house I AM buying. I close in about 2 wks. 1st column: The #s w/current tenant till June. We won't renew the lease. Instead we'll rehab the inside; ~$7k, then raise the rent to match the market. Using coulmn #2, total monthly cashflow of all homes is $1,186mo. Initial goal is $20.5K/$1,708 mo. Almost there! If we can rent it for $1.1Kmo (column 3)...AWESOME!
Have an offer that pays ~$350-450k a year, but is very bonus heavy and about 25% of that or more will be restricted stock and options. Making ~$350k now all cash. And the way it’s structured, in the first year I’ll end up being ~$50k short for the year of where I would be if I stayed. Also requires a big move to a location I’m not too keen on. WLB is better, probably 50 hours a week but need to be plugged in 100% of the time. Any considerations I haven’t really thought about? What should I ask?
Just joined a smaller firm who uses Paychex for their 401k provider. I noticed they do not offer too many options for funds to invest in and seems lower end than my prior Schwab 401k offered. 1) Anyone have experience with Paychex and have similar observations? 2) I’m leaning towards doing enough 401k pretax contribution on Paychex to get the company match and then do the rest as a Roth IRA to obtain better investments. Any other options I’m not thinking of?
Anyone familiar with comp range the Senior Program Architect role at Salesforce? Also, thoughts on Nvidia and comp for an engineer role?

Amazon L6 level offer total comp $300K. I have seen on levels.fyi as high as $420K but not sure how trustworthy that is. Is it a fair offer? I have 10+ of relevant experience.
What's the easiest way to rollover 401k between employers? Also how does the new employer's 401k limit my yearly contribution limit if I have contributed to my previous 401k?
Tip: find an activity you enjoy that is at least moderately challenging—bonus if it’s outside, involves exercise, and/or is social For me, skiing this winter has been huge for my mental state
Is end-of-year bonus season a lost cause at this point? (In a firm with no layoffs or pay cuts yet).
Thoughts on GE Healthcare? GE Healthcare appears to be expanding rapidly and recruiting aggressively. Their impending IPO looks to paint a promising future.
We have it worse than our parents. No real pension( defined benefit plan) which pays you an amount per month til death. 401k are at risk of the market.. while ceos and partners....make millions
Manager 1. Transfer from audit into FDD (and have to do one more busy season in audit), or leave to a financial reporting job at a large public co for 40% raise?
Can we not call it TrumpCare or ObamaCare and just call it the Affordable Care Act like it should have been from day one. Stop playing politics with healthcare. People die from this BS.

Does staying at a job too long make you less marketable? A CFO who worked at a company for over a decade and was fired because of cut backs was hired for temp work. An accounting manager of 6 years was hired for tech support. How does this happen?
I’m just starting in a consulting role out of undergrad but want to keep my computer science skills up should I decide to exit to a technical role. Does anyone have recommendations on how to do so?
What is the day to day like for a role in international corporate banking? Seems like they have different industry coverage groups such as fig, tmt, industrials, etc. How is pay and bonus? Hey fellow Disney Lovers, I generally have a few lessons in which I can use Pixar shorts to teach students how to identify and discuss literary signposts, how to identify and explain the development of theme, character traits, and other narrative elements. What are some of your favorite shorts? I am trying to incorporate activities where my students get to choose their own clips for independent practice with these skills and need a variety to draw from.

Emergency fund poll — do you keep 6 months of expenses or 6 months of salary? I read everyone’s posts about investing but I’m still trying to build my emergency fund up... I’m about to reach 6 months of expenses (~$20k) but not sure if I should keep going and save up 6 months of salary ($36k). I know it’s preference but thought I’d ask. Just feel a bit behind as I’m about to turn 27 :/
My husband and I are planning on starting a family in the next year or two. I enjoy working, so I don’t expect to be a stay at home mom. As of now, neither is my husband. At what age(or months) did you decided to bring your child to day care. Who watch your child before then? Our family does not live close by.
Another final round interview today that I thought went really well. Time to constantly check my phone and email and not get any work done / get my hopes up...
