If you recently interviewed for an internal position, which you didn’t get, how would you perceive the statement of “you far exceeded our expectations in the interview”. Positive or negative?

HR just reached out to follow up on an interview and said “Hi! We are working on stepping up final interviews next week!” What does “stepping up” mean?!? I assume setting up? But then I thought? Maybe no?

5 rounds of interviews and final interview case study and I get the dreaded thanks, but no thanks email and feedback that I did have the desired experience for the role. Why take up 6 weeks of my and their teams time? I am amazed by the amount of “waste” and “cost” an agile / lean company would burn through on a candidate they see as unsatisfactory. I Meh!

I recently interviewed for a health research analyst position Ina consulting firm. I found some of the questions objectionable. What threw me off was the interviewer asked me and I will quote them " with your current generation, work life balance is a huge deal. What do you think are the benefits of working?" They also told me they do "overtime".
Is it just me who thinks this was another way of saying we want you to work more than required?

For people who is currently working as a software engineer, what type of behavioral questions is being asked in interview? Can you give me some examples besides the normal ones like tell me about yourself/strength/weakness. I know questions varies on the type of positioning you interview for, which is why I asked particularly people who is working as a software engineer.

How can I answer why I am leaving my current company after only been here for 3 months? I just really don’t like my manager but i can’t say that during the interview. Any tips will help!!
