Sounds like a hell yeah to me.
Seems like a good pivot if you want to get out of tax and more into accounting. PE firms tend to put a lot of pressure on their companies since it’s all about the P&L, so I would just want to understand what work life balance you’d be getting into
I want to clarify that it is a firm that do accounting work for PE/VC companies (not working as a fund accountant in PE/VC). Then how does that sound?
I worried about the potential growth and if it’s easy to jump from the service firm to PE/VC. Given I don’t have audit background...
Sound like fund admin to me? I think it’s an option for transition if you want to switch from tax to accounting, and currently have no other options.
I’ve interned at a company like this. Your whole team is basically an outsourced accounting department for pe and vc funds. I quit my internship after 2 months, it was incredibly boring.
Zero client interaction, my team was kinda lame tbh (we just didn’t have anything in common), and all was doing was sorting through emails, posting journal entries and making schedules all day. If you’re looking for a job where you can work a 9 to 5 and go home than it might be a good fit. I just personally prefer being in a more client facing role, makes the job a bit more interesting

Still a bit unclear - is this a firm that does fund accounting for PE clients? Or does it do accounting for portfolio companies of PE firms?
