What role is this for?
Awesome! Is it the supply chain manager/procurement role ?
Tesla hires consultants?

Aren’t they moving to Texas? I would ask how that impacts your role (if they plan to transition everything to Texas and when, or leave some operations in the Bay Area)
If you can, try to move to Texas instead. They’re building a gigafactory in north Austin, although I’m not sure how many HQ jobs will be based out of there
Rising Star
Don’t take it? Not worth moving somewhere you don’t want to live in. You can ask if it can be remote but if you haven’t brought that up throughout the process, there’s not a strong chance they’ll allow it
Yea I did ask about that Texas move but recruiter didn’t really have any info.
I lived in SF for 2.5 years, lol it’s not awful but def not for everyone
I'd pursue moving to Texas - lower cost of living with no state income tax.
It will be a mistake not to take it. Even if it’s a 2 year thing. Just my view.
Bumping this up, as I’m deciding between Tesla and a Healthcare Payer as product development (for new market solutions).
Tesla is obviously much more money when considering stock options, but as noted not interested in moving, so if can’t be remote, this discussion is a bit pointless.
Anybody have experience working for a payer? Seems like an exciting space to be given all the changes with telehealth, new startups, and push for data analytics in addressing care. For my next role looking for more meaningful impact and despite the negative view of payers, I do think this role can offer that.
Thanks! I also have a lot of fam around so it’s nice to stay here. In my mid 30’s and I don’t really feel like starting in a new place when I’m so imbedded in my community here.
Thought about also going back to my old firm (Mckinsey) since I wouldn’t have to move as well. Not sure I’m ready to go back into that grind, even though the money super attractive.
