Got an offer from a plaintiff’s side employment litigation firm for $90k and an in-house position at a real estate company for the same amount. NYC market, for what it’s worth. Both seem like good fits but I’m struggling to decide between the two. What are your thoughts?

What year? What role are you more interested in? Consider growth factors professionally and career goals because these positions can take you down two different, but albeit, successful paths.

You said the word passion in describing the real estate role, and that speaks volumes for the level of satisfaction and happiness you’d have in that role. If you didn’t get a good read of the people, just know you can always give sufficient time to this company, and then lateral to a larger RE role. Exciting time for you, GL!

Hello everyone,

I am starting my job search again. I am being set up and gas lighted at the current company I work in. It is very discouraging I ask for help and people refuse to help me & give me the run around. I am early in my marketing career and I work in media planning/buying. I work remotely and would like to stay remote for another year if possible.

I have five months in the company. I want to stay in the similar role but I also want to know if you all have other role recommendations

Looking at exits into pharma and biotech. Have an opp at a biotech at the SM level. Total comp excluding equity is around $190k; RSUs vest over 4 years with annual refreshers, so first year equity would be around $6,200 and it would go up by $6,200 each of the next 3 years, plus whatever base bump I get. Very good benefits package.

They envision 2-3 years before I jump either to AD or right to D. Solid opp? Or hold out to go straight to director level?

Are you responsible for giving performance feedback? Avoid giving personality based feedback. Performance feedback should be tied to business outcomes with clear examples of what the person does well + how they can improve.

I’m at a mid sized regional firm. Partner I work with only wants to do litigation but it doesn’t keep all the associates busy. So, he takes on whatever random projects come he gets calls on, but will say things like “we gotta pretend like we’ve done this a thousand times.” It makes me uncomfortable because we haven’t and it’s specialized things like doing all the filings to establish an HMO (which we don’t do). He then ghosts and we’re left trying to figure it all out. Is this normal?
