Price out a private ppo health, vision, dental. Price out life and disability insurance. Any other benefits you’ll compromise on like pto, phone, 401k, stocks. Definitely need to negotiate to make up for those at a minimum.

like

Definitely negotiate. No consulting firm is that great of a fit enough to make up for lack of 401k and health insurance. Unless you’re unemployed rn or desperately need to get out of your current job.

That is very strange...Starbucks gives part time Baristas health insurance. Something smells fishy.

Yikes, no health insurance?! It better be a salary in the high six figures. Normal doctor visits will run you a couple hundred each just for regular checkups. Tag on prescription meds too. Add on nothing for 401k, yeah they better be paying you in gold bars

No health benefits? Is the salary excellent?

Are you in the US? Is this a full time job? If so, health benefits are a legal requirement, right?

I would run. What is it about the firm that is especially exciting to you? Are you getting equity?

That's weird. When I joined my boutique, it was 8 employees. We had health insurance and an insanely good 401k match. Small doesn't and shouldn't mean no benefits.

like

After looking up health insurance plans on the marketplace I can pay around the same amount I’m paying now (~350/month) and get a solid insurance plan. The offer is for 110k whereas I now make 85k so it seems it would make up for the lack of benefits..but I’m still not entirely sure

Is it normal for you to ever be “ghosted” by your administration? I feel like I’m constantly emailing, calling, texting, and meeting with them and nothing gets done. As soon as I leave their office, I’m ignored. If I email/text them a question or request, I’m ignored unless it benefits them. This is at a district where I travel between 3 schools and have 3 principals. They’re all like this and communication is especially important since I have to travel.
