Does Natwest bank pay as competitive as Morgan Stanley Deutsche Bank. I mean Associate in MS and DB ranges from 20 to 30 lakh. However when I tried applying to Natwest expecting 40% hike (30 lpa) on current pay of 21 lakh. They straightway rejected me and said its not in their budget. Is there any financial firm which can pay as competitive to Mumbai banks. Barclays Deutsche Bank Natwest group BlackRock

That is about in line with what I expect. Level 7/manager typical starts at 140 and also includes a second bonus available each year fyi. I would say you are close to being a level 7/manager based on that pay and YOE.
Essentially I would use the associate manager title due to it having manager. But our levels go :level 9- consultant/specialist (titles not meaning much, focus on level) then level 8 - associate manager then level 7 - manager followed by senior manager at 6.
The data consultant part is probaly your title for the project you are booked on. I imagine your AFS side teams/Skype title would be data associate manager when you get here.
For reference, they offered me L8 and 125+10 with just 2.5 YOE. You could probably ask for a little more comp, but unless you have managerial experience L8 is as high as they’ll go I think
Take it and don't look back
Skipped to the end...salary is fine, but I’d negotiate level.
If you get Manager, you qualify for global comp (vs just individual bonus). Global comp is for any manager or above who rates as average...typically $7k-12k during my limited window there. By merely being a Manger vs an Associate Manager, you increase your total comp.
Now downside...much harder to get promoted as Senior Manager is the next level and harder to get to, therefore annual increases likely will be around 3% (AFS can still be competitive here more than most). Where if you got promoted from associate m to m, you’d probably get a 10% base bump...
I’d still take the manager and getting 3.5% base increases- even if it took 3-5 years to get to SM
Comp is consistent with the upper end of the salary band at AFS. If you can push for level 7 (manager) you might have more opportunities/responsibilities and will be paid slightly more. I think it's worth a try.
Level 8 is a strange position. It's relatively new for many areas and senior managers often treat them as expensive level 9 resources (and the responsibilities seem to match this). There are significantly fewer jobs available for level 8 than for 9 or 7 which will be a factor for when your first role ends (if you don't get promoted).
Since you haven't been in consulting before, you might feel a bit of a culture shock but I think that's a good thing. Work hard and ask questions as you need - you'll get support if you ask for it. I hope you choose Accenture Federal because I think it's a great place to work.
Also, what do all of these titles mean (i.e. associate manager, career level 8, and data consultant)? I’m used to only having one title, which makes it easy to list on LinkedIn. What would an AFS employee call themselves in my situation?
A1 that’s not true for AFS. Both MC and TGP have CL8, since all new hires are brought into CD&O
How did you post on your LinkedIn the clearance for them to reach out? I just got my TS but no poly - I'm at 95k - I would like to start getting offers/ opportunities.
Are you currently at AFS? If not, I’m in the cleared space and we are actively looking for folks. Feel free to send me a DM.
That's what they offered me for that same level/role, plus a signing bonus. Booz offered me more though so here I am.
Ah that isn't bad, but yes I got 20 days PTO plus federal holidays as a new hire out of college.
Jeez I def got screwed at 130k at L7. Honestly where are you now? Afs is just meh
Good stepping stone to hire comp however
You can negotiate more, especially if your current company is willing to counteroffer. Then take that counteroffer back to AFS and they will bump you up if they really want you. I came in with similar creds as you at 150K + bonus at L8 after negotiation.
