Got an offer from Infosys with a significant pay increase and opportunity to grow my skills more. 2 years at IBM but haven’t got the experience I expected. Any thoughts about Infosys?

Isn't as good as it used to be. Founders were excellent but all left now. Major leadership churn recently and culture has gone for a toss

Don’t do it. Just a shady place

Sounds like your current situation is not ideal... and input about Infosys is not ideal. The CIC situation is no good. For 65% increase in salary, it might not be too bad. Go for it. Leverage that salary for another move in the near future!

PWC1, it’s an Ariba Associate Consultant position and it’s for 65% more than i’m making now at IBM. yes, i meant 65%. lol

Agree with EY1. I never felt the growth opportunities were there. There are some Partners that have a good book of business. But few and far between. I’m ex infy

fwiw, i’m only planning to stay there a year or two, get some more experience, and then go to another company

If you are getting a good compensation then go for it. They give decent amount of personal days too. Health insurance is not bad either but there is no match for 401k. Btw what position are you going for and what are they offering you?

Yes SC1, I’ll be going straight to a project

Yes it is. Just trying to see what people think about Infosys really

Do they have a project already lined up for you?

Because I haven’t gained any real config experience, etc at IBM on my projects. Mostly just testing roles and support roles. My position at Infosys would be an Ariba Associate consultant. Plus i’m working out of 1 of 4 CIC’s at IBM and the pay is well below industry averages.

What is it? How long? They’re notorious for putting people on Managed Services / PMO work with indefinite duration and not letting you roll off.

It’s an Ariba Associate consultant role. long term at a manufacturing/shipping type company

Be sure that’s what you’ll be doing though. I was told I would be doing digital strategy for my first project. Ended up over a year of PMO work. Just be sure the move is what you want. I’m not sure the exit opps will be significantly better from Infy in 2 years. But i also hear that IBM isn’t in great shape either. It’s a hard decision

OP I just know everyone infosys hired from my MBA class were the b-team people and some of them were just not as hard workers/different personalities. I also have friends who have worked there and told me about some shady stuff more in their global services type area. Some of my consulting mentors from other firms have also wanted to rule out any hires with infosys on their resume. I’d stay away. Have yet to hear anyone say anything positive.

Preferential treatment to Indians versus other nationalities/not treating Americans (meaning natural born citizens) well (have heard this from multiple people - all natural born US citizens but different races). My friend who worked in the global services area also said that there were some questionable practices going on around the visa approval process, etc. Seems like questionable integrity. Principals/VPs at one firm I worked for hands down did not want to hire people with infosys on their resume, largely due to culture fit (related to some of the info listed above). I wouldn’t do it.

Not sure it’s worth it then. Why do you think your exit opps will be better after infy?

If I was with Core/GBS part of IBM i definitely would stay. No one from my office has willingly stayed. Basically everyone i’ve onboarded with or met there has left
