Does anyone regret joining a boutique consulting firm? I signed with a startup out of college (spring 2020) whose founding partners were all partners/Sr leaders at a few T2s. Our firm is super small (dozen FTEs) but does really good work (we charge premium rates and work super cool projects). Hello! I’m currently a Administrative assistant now working at a major medical system in Baltimore. I’ve previously worked for 10 years as a medical assistant in a variety of specialties and primary care. Lately, I’ve been feeling a bit stuck as to my next step. Part of me want to go into management, another part is saying go get your RN, and the other is saying go into Social Work. I’m all over the place. Any ideas? And how would I be able to cross over to management?

My current CTC is <10LPA, therefore even if I switch jobs and am offered a package that is 40%–50% higher than my current CTC, my new income won't be much higher than 12LPA–13LPA. However, I am on the lookout for even better ones. So, if there is a negotiation, can I mention to HR that I already have an offer of at least 12 lpa and persuade them to give me more? Will this ruse succeed? Or will they demand to show an offer letter?
