Got an offer to lateral as a non equity partner, not sure if I should take it since my ultimate goal is to be in house. Does becoming a partner limit in house prospects?

If anything, getting the partner title will increase your in house prospects. Lots of people lateral to Kirkland and Ellis because you automatically get to call yourself a “partner” as a sixth year and there are a surprisingly large number of companies that don’t realize it’s a sham title.

Typical SVP and EVP comps for the f500?

I feel like director and VP comps are more known and somewhat standardized, but does anyone know what the higher levels make?

I’ve generally gotten the sense at my firm (not Accenture anymore) that SVP is sort of the equivalent of early partners in consulting, with EVP maybe being a more senior partner. Curious how the comps stack up.

My company cut staff to 4 days/wk to save funds. I was getting requests from coworkers for docs needed urgently on our day off (fridays). I would oblige them. But then, I learned that those same coworkers had been put back to 5 days because they were deemed “essential“. I felt foolish and decided to stop working on fridays. One EVP (not the GC) in particular has been aggressively texting/calling me on fridays. How Do I tactfully respond? My out-of-office email is not enough of a hint...

On the org chart, to whom should a GC report? I work for a fairly large nonprofit, and have been fighting this battle for months. I believe the appropriate place is the Executive Director, or in second place, the CFO. But I’m not under either. What does this look like in the for-profit world?

For those of you who made the jump from a firm to in-house, how did you know that’s what you wanted to do? Most importantly, how did you know that it would be a better fit for you than your firm job? I’ve learned this past year that I really don’t enjoy litigation or firm life.
