Cognizant Experience - Last Wednesday, My HR round was completed and they said your offer letter will be released by next day(they asked me to fill cdf-2 form) then I kept waiting and waiting for the offer letter. After multiple email chain and all, HR called me to say, we cannot move with your candidature as your experience is below 3 years. I said I already informed this to you before the interview, she said yes but we can not proceed. Very unprofessional. CCTC: 5.5, YOE: 2.5, Tech: Java

1.65 Cr in India is a lot of money with all the support and help to raise small children. It’s a luxurious life you are leading there. US, even Dallas, is now crazy expensive. Youd really wanna think hard on that one
Pro
We moved from Dallas back in 2014 and COL was cheap back then, saw that house values have gone up considerably, plus I agree child care will strain 330 much harder
Don’t even think of coming here. 1.65 car is almost a million in US
Pro
How is that a million? NCR is quite expensive and inflation is through the roof.
I think you should be very well off in India with 1.65 cr. In my view, moving to the US just for that 330 salary does not makes sense. I believe you should evaluate it without taking into consideration how much you’re going to make in the US. Think about what would be good for your family vs what your want your future to be etc. 330 with a family of 4 is not easy in the US, especially with rising inflation.

Kahan reh rahe ho NCR mein? Ghaziabad, Noida, gurga or kahan?
I use a 3:1 multiple for parity conversion. 330k is 110k or 76 lakh INR. So you would be financially much better in NCR. However quality of life will be significantly better in US. I am from NCR so can attest. I am green card holder myself so no visa issues

Agree EY1 well said family side is a big aspect of consideration for us. My and SO parents do not want to move or live in US.

Stay there. The dollar amount might tempt you but you’re making very good money in India

Get more experience to command a higher US income and then move back to USA
I am more interested in understanding who is giving 1.65cr in India.. that is awesome.
I live in India and only about 1 cr and i have said no to multiple global opportunities. With age, the kind of comfort i have in India, i can only be able to afford that with a million dollars in US. I guess thats what some else above said. Imagine, everything getting taken care of and all your time being available to your work, family and yourself.
PM or SWE roles?
1.65 Cr is very much like getting 600-700k in Dallas. FYI I am from NCR too.
No brainer to even think of moving for that less. For 600-700 you can plan out but you will be missing on the luxuries and affluence.
