Got AVP product manager offer at Citi in Toronto for $115k, no bonus or other comp. i have 6 yoe at a boutique consulting firm. This is the final offer. How’s the offer? I’m still interviewing with other companies but obviously this is the best offer I have right now

Going off US based salaries with the experience that you mentioned I would expect an offer between $125k - $140k. Also it’s interesting there aren’t at least incentive based bonuses for the offer.

I’m not sure how long I can delay with the other interviews going on and if they can get back sooner. I don’t know how else to ask to increase the base salary

It's a bit odd they offer base only with no additional bonuses. TR1 is right - $115 does seem a bit low as well, especially with that much experience. Perhaps try to delay acceptance to compare it with the other offers you receive.

HELP! I’ve been contacted by a small private security firm who wants me to be their “on call” counsel. They describe it as a lot of contract review, drafting NDAs, etc. but also being there if/when they need to license a vehicle, defend civil suit, etc. It’s overwhelming but sounds like a really great opportunity. I have enough background to be comfortable with contracts and litigation, but don’t want to get myself into a mess. Has anybody else ever had a job like this?

Salary negotiation question- I have 6 YOE and most recently 3 years in a Operational lead role. The job I’m applying for is an Operations Manager (NYC) and has a base range of $82K-$88K with 15% bonus. I’m dying to get to 6 figures on my base.. How can I ask for a higher base, what’s the most I can ask for and how much is appropriate before them refunding the offer (If I get it)

I was told by a company via email prior to the final interview, “that the maximum salary for this opportunity is $90k plus 10% bonus.” Does this mean that I should expect no more than the previously stated or expect to be offered the previously stated? Just don’t want to be blindsided if the offer is lower. Thanks!

Which strategy is better?

#1 - The first tactic I learned for salary negotiation is to give them a # and act like you will walk away if it's not met. I forget the details, but something like even if they give you a lower #, you still stick to your #.

#2 - You can also give them a # and they may come back with a lower # and you can take it or leave it.

#3 - A new coach told me about giving a range. He said if you give them a #, they may flat out say no.

Can't they say no to any of these?
