Got called into a meeting yesterday with my current, small firm to have a conversation about my commitment to them and if I was interviewing elsewhere. They questioned why I left early or came late a few times in the past few weeks (it was for interviews). I obviously said I wasn't interviewing. And now, a day later, I receive an offer that I will definitely be accepting. This is going to be awkward.

Has anyone else gone through several Merck interviews just to be ghosted?

Naturally, I laugh awkwardly…

Note: Ive made no mention of me attending an interview with another employer nor my lack desire to deal with this establishments self-centered motives to anyone.

Can someone advise what to do in this situation?

Cleared 2 technical rounds of interview with aaseya and also shared documents for HR discussion. Now HR is saying there will be further 1 technical round as my salary expectations is high. Should I appear for interview?

I am afraid as same happened with cognizant after HR discussion they again took technical interview for 1hr 30 mins and told me they could not provide the salary negotiated.

Often in the interview, interviewer asks about how virtual dom works or what is react or where is implementation of setTimeoutEffect(in v6 or ESMAScripts). Or Even in Nodejs interview they ask about event loop or v8 engine r libuv which is not required while programming with nodejs. I was just curios why they ask these, because in actual development I dont think these concepts are much helpful (even if those are the once we build things on), these are only for what is happening in background

When meeting a CD or someone higher for an interview, what are some good questions to ask?

My interview got over on June 29th right after the interview the recruiter called me and told I’m selected and they will be sending the offer letter. He mentioned there will be a delay in releasing the offer letter since merging is happening right now. few days back I sent a mail to HR.. but no reply. and after that I received a mail stating they are no longer considering me for this position. Happy Halloween! Hope everyone stays safe today. It has been two months since my last role at a law firm. I had only gotten one interview or no callbacks since then.

I am unsure if my resume is wrong in terms of not tailoring my resume or working for multiple law firms for a few months due to being hired through a recruiting agency.

What should I do to get more callbacks/interviews? Should I reach out to HR/Recruiter directly? Should I get a paralegal cert? Should I do the programs on Forage?

Questions for M&A folks (esp. IB / PE):
1) Putting name of exact deal on your resume — is this good/acceptable/bad?
2) Mentioning name of exact deal during interview — is this good/acceptable/bad?
3) If I know that the interviewer worked on the same deal, does it change answer to Q2?

My assistant is a nice person who has worked worth me for about 1.5 years. I have a solo family law practice, and she excels at dealing with clients, which is great. Unfortunately, her attention to detail sucks and it is making me crazy. For example, I told her to find the order entered that required OV to comply with discovery within x number of days. She comes in my office and tells me no such order was entered. It takes me about 3 minutes to find the order, which was about 2 orders (cont)
