It's not you, it's them

like

It’s not because you travel. It’s because you are dating the wrong type of person.

like

You’re fine. Your SOs just suck

like

I mean I don’t think it’s unreasonable not to want to date someone who is gone over half the week, every week

like

Your SO isn't wrong... your job is unique in that it is 90% travelling...cant expect everyone to be ok with that.

like

@D1 and P2

Yeah, I do understand your points, still hurts though. It’s not like I lied about what I do or what my job entails. They didn’t really communicate their needs though. I just wonder if it’s worthwhile even trying to date any more

Welcome to the single bowl~~~

Relationships are like cars. They require work and maintenance to function. If your SO isn’t willing to work for your relationship then they’re not worth it anyway. You’ll find someone someday. Until then just continue to love your single self!

like

Honestly most practical advice here is to date another consultant. They can at least understand.

like

I love what I do. I’m great at it. I worked hard to get here.

But it seems like I’m supposed to change jobs so I can be there 24x7 in case I’m “needed” and because of their insecurities. Ugh

like

It gets easier as you get older..people become more mature

like

Are you fine with travel? If yes, then their desires and yours didn't match...and that's why you got dumped. Consider it being set free not being dumped. Also consider that some people are needy to an extreme ; I can't guess if this was the case or not.

like

It's 2018. You can "be there" through text, calls, Skype, IG, etc. Sounds like a them problem.

like

Date another consultant

like

Consider other options... alt travel so they come to you, use your points for frequent getaways, can they work remotely from time to time, can you work remotely from time to time. Three are a lot of drawbacks to consulting but a lot of perks... maximize the perks.

like

Always remember you choose each other - figure out why you’re choosing whatever type you are and why they are choosing you

like

Ask yourself why you (are attracting/are agreeing to go out with) people who are insecure and bad communicators? If you notice a pattern, it could be a subconscious choice. You are worthy of secure communicators.

like

You didn't provide a slide deck summarising your situation and best practices.

Marriott Titanium, and I feel like recently when I ask for late checkout I'm constantly told no because the hotel is fully booked. I haven't pressed the issue b/c I haven't super needed it. But I'm starting to think they are told to lie about being booked. I just checked the hotel I'm staying at and they have rooms tonight and tomorrow to book, after telling me they were full. Anyone else notice this?

It appears like clients are becoming more comfortable with remote working so I have to imagine they will push back on Mon-Thu every week going forward.
