Got final interview with 2 ppl from Deloitte yesterday, 1 is a manager and the other is a partner. I think I did well with the manager. For the partner, he asked 2/4 questions that I did not prepare so did not answer as well as expected. He stopped asking me after just 10 mins with those 2 questions. Given that I have some strengths from my resume ( high gpa, passed cpa) and fluent communication, friendly manner. Any hope? Position: Audit staff.

Literally anyone with a half functioning brain can walk in, interview and get a job at big 4 at the staff level. If you got this far, don't sorry...you're good

Don't read too much into it.

They aren't looking for correct answers they are looking to see if they could be in an audit room with you for months at a time. Also looking for flags like can I train this person or are they way to arrogant. If you showed you had a willingness to listen, had the ability to learn and weren't a weirdo you should be fine.

like

Pretty sure as long as you can breathe you’re hired. Everyone is desperate for people

like

I hope youre not going from one big 4 to another. You need a pulse. If you don't get hired, let someone you know at EY know, and they will refer you.

If you’re worried about the fact he opened up to questions so early on, that’s not an issue and is standard with all of the partners I’ve interviewed with before.

like

What we’re the two questions?

You didn’t get the job.

There are only so many behavioral questions he can ask, there are only so many society president jobs you had in college, it’s not like he can ask you a ASC 842 question.

Folks who’ve left ClearView, how is life on the other side, and how long did you stay before you jumped ship? It’s a week where I’m burning, and the fact that I feel so isolated during it makes me want to quit consulting altogether. Would also like to talk to some of you if possible. Never thought I’d say this but I honestly feel unhappy in my job, and I wonder if it is just WFH related - and whether it might get better once the office opens up.

I am new to consulting and I have never felt more insecure. I am the subject matter expert for my team and a liaison with the client but most of the technical stuff is going over my head. I think part of the issue is that I feel like I am going to have to defend every choice I make. I am not used to that and I just don't get some concepts. Also, there are not many women and I have worked in mainly female work environments until now.
