Got laid off from Meta this morning… no warning signs as I’m back from PTO 11k of us!

We have a fixed PTO time plan (very generous) but leftover rates by now are enormous. It’s gonna be about 160 hours of unused PTO per employee in the end of the year, and we only rollover 80. We thought about rolling over everything, but then accruals get too high. Does anyone have creative ideas how we can roll over excessive hours and don’t make them wages at the same time...

Have I just had bad luck with the companies I've been at or is it like this everywhere? I've had 7 managers in my 4 years of experience, 3 in one year at my first position (which is why I left) and now 4 at the 2nd company in 3 years. Got an offer from another big4 on Thurs. Scheduled a call with MD on Fri bcoz the next Mon was my planned PTO. MD had an idea what it was about but didn’t wanna join. Sent text msg so that we could talk on the phone(since this is the MD’s preferred way of communication) No response. I came back from PTO the next Thurs and pinged the MD right away to talk and was ghosted. turned in my notice on Friday. MD then scheduled a call with me on my last day with the firm. Thoughts on this MD’s behavior?

Salary vs Hourly - any other hourly EA’s here? I have an interview with T-Mobile next week and their EA’s are hourly. I’m currently hourly now, and Overtime is not permitted. I hate having to clock in and out because I am working regardless. As soon as I clock out is when everyone calls me to do something. Would it be possible to negotiate being salary instead of hourly?

How many hours a week are you working? I’m generally clocking about 50-60 and I’m exhausted. I’m busy, but it’s mostly because no one I work with has any boundaries.

Hey fellow EA’s, need some advice. I currently support a top C suite exec at a large firm (and have a few additional execs, who are mostly low maintenance at least while we’re still remote). I regularly get asked to help 2 other senior execs since they don’t have assistants, but that’s been manageable so far. Been at this job a few months (and remote) so still getting the hang of everything/everyone but feel fairly settled. My main C suite exec naturally demands a lot of my time...con’t..

Has any firm done anything in the way of extensive EA training/networking within their NA offices via a program retreat? I'm guessing it's a hard sell, but it seems it would be beneficial. Anyone?
