Have a formal offer at Citi for 120K as an AVP in the NY office. Currently making 92K at my current role where I feel there’s not much room to grow anymore. Is this a fair offer? I currently WFH pretty much full time at my current role which has been amazing, but it seems like Citi would require me to be there 2-3 days in the office per week - and this is something I’m very hesitant about. Thoughts on how to approach this?
Received an offer as Engagement Director from Salesforce (CSG, pre sales, L9). Great benefits package, 40% increase in total comp and better WLB.
I do love the people in my practice and current client, but career trajectory has stalled after taking parental leave earlier this year and (yet another) change in leadership.
Realistically, making to Director is 2-3 years away and will require sacrificing time with my family that I am not prepared to give up.
Should I stay or should I go?

1.5 years at MBB can change lives (in terms of career trajectory and options). I wouldn’t brush off the opportunity too quickly
Ehhh it’s overhyped. I agree there’s some advantage but it’s not life changing.
Get the offer. Push out the start date so that you have enough time to recharge your batteries before starting / keep looking for the perfect job. If you don't get anything otherwise good, then stick it out for a year at the MBB
THIS
Assuming your old consulting firm wasn’t MBB, going there could still show “progression” in your career and give you a steady salary while you assess options. Also the prep for consulting roles would be minimal / none (case studies are basically your old job). If you are even remotely open why not try it. If you know what you want and you’re confident you can get it easily despite recession, then also fine to ignore MBB.
I’m not saying no prep whatsoever, but considerably less than other processes where it’s more about changing industry. Especially at their level of seniority. Especially if it’s not the top choice for OP, then he could devolve even less time to it
I don’t know why everyone is telling you to do it if you’re not interested in the job. I’d decline and focus on roles that you’re excited about.
Problem is the market is soft and likely he'll have a mediocre exit
Might as well get a few months at MBB, and once the economy turns he can bail right away (esp since he has so much consulting exp already nobody would bat an eye at early MBB exit)
Is it okay to reject these opportunities? I don’t have time to waste on interviewing for roles I know I’m not interested in. Would rather channel that energy into prep for roles that I’m aligning to. My sister thinks I’m crazy for not wanting to consider MBB… thoughts?
I’m sorry. What firm?

Talk to your trusted ex colleagues, they may offer a real perspective based on knowing you well.
If you don’t wanna do MBB, don’t. Your sister isn’t in the role - you are. Trust your own gut.
Do you know where you want to go? Could those jobs help you get there? Then consider?
I would interview with at least one of them for practice and interview experience! It's always good. Maybe you bag an offer you can use as leverage. Maybe not. But for me the first 1-2 interviews are always kinda dry, so better use them with a company you're not phased about
I would say you can talk to them as practice interviews. Its really lucky in one hand you got laud off and on another hand people are reaching out to you.
I’m sorry to hear that. May I ask which firm and practice?
