Got laid off today, and literally was going to put in my two weeks tomorrow. Unemployment here I come!

Can you get fired for having low utilization as a senior? My billable hours this busy season have been much lower than my peers.

Any insight from Deloitte folks on the announced layoffs? Has anyone from PwC or KPMG heard anything similar? EY has left the door open for layoffs, but hasn’t laid out specific plans yet. It feels inevitable though. While I don’t think I’m on the chopping block (famous last words), I do worry about the morale impact on my teams and the office in general. Curious to hear other perspectives.

OK gonna maybe open a can of worms here but I have to ask: it seems the sudden inflation we're seeing has taken the ins. ind. by surprise. The cost/expense projections done X yrs. ago for this and poss'y subsequent yrs. have been thrown off. Costs to repair/replace cars have shot up unexpectedly. Same for houses. Med costs have all gone up. Ins. cos. have relatively thin profit margins to begin with. There's talk of cost-cutting measures-- incl. layoffs. How realistic are these concerns?

If I leave or am fired and my contract requires 2-weeks notice will I still get paid for those 2 weeks if they tell me to leave on day 1? “Your employment is on at will basis upon two by either parties upon 2 weeks of written notice”

I finished my MTech from manipal in power electronics and drivers but it was during 2020 ... I was removed from my internship where I did my project.... Because I couldn't gain any good skills in power electronics and drivers i was unemployed from July to December that year ... Got job but in service field in goa which paid less then my previous internship ... Currently working at EY and will be hitting 6 months in June, while I was super excited- I have come to the fruition that it hasn't worked out for the best. Is it bad to leave around 6 months? I came in at a much lower level, even though I had several years of industry experience. It felt like a classic case of 'bait and switch' and really I was trying to get my foot in the door. Should I look at new opportunities or will this go against me? I am annoyed with myself for taking a lower role.

Guys, please tell me how to deal with a M ( I don't report to this person directly) who calls on my personal mobile over and over again for work related stuff? Sometimes on weekends as well. This seems absolutely unprofessional to me, I am available on Teams zoom everywhere on weekdays and even if I am away for some time there is absolutely NO work that can't wait for some time. This is absolutely pissing me off and I just don't know how to get rid of this situation.
