Got offers from McKinsey and KPMG, probably looking to take one of them. Any advice from those who work there?

Always Deloitte

likefunny

Yeah obviously KPMG - K is before M in the alphabet so it must be better

likefunny

And the M belongs to us now!

Don't work at either and for sure you should accept KPMG

likefunnysmart

definitely KPMG

likefunny

Keep playing and watch you accidentally send the rejection email to McK and the acceptance email to KPMG. Karma will make you an auditor real quick.

Actually if you need to ask you prob won’t make it at McK, so just save yourself the firing and go to KPMG

likefunny

So condescending! Not everyone has that as the sole purpose/goal of their lives! What if OP got a great deal with KPMG? What if OP wants to stay here for the long haul with a sustainable career?

Deloitte. #1 Talent Experience.

Well, join KPMG cuz they just acquired Mckinsey earlier this month!

Kpmg if you want wlb. McK if you want prestige.

helpful

I agree with this, depending on what area you’re in (if it’s strategy you already know you will have no WLB and which one you’re going to pick).

KPMG if offered director/partner McKinsey for literally anything em or above

If it's strategy or management consulting, I'd probably go with McK because the hours are bad at KPMG for these practices. But it really depends on you and what you want to do in the end.

like

That's what I'm saying lol. If both are bad hours, might as well take the job with better prestige, exit opps, and pay.

People are so not helpful - what level and comp for each place? Obviously at fave value MCK. But if you’re being offered a leadership role and very generous compensation package at K then maybe it’s enough to tip the scales. Need more info OP.

Hold your nose and go to McK for a year or two and then move to KPMG or wherever at a higher level

Try for EY, a better choice

like

KPMG b/c it has (P)artner in it and you will be extremely successful and rich. McK only has (M)anager and (C)onsultant, but C probably stands for c$nt.

McK if you like selling drugs to poor people

My wife and I moved to a new city so we could be closer to her family because we’re having a baby. We’ve been here for a few months now and I haven’t made any friends. It doesn’t help that I’m fully remote. I’m not depressed as I’ve got so much going for me right now, but the only way I can describe it is that I’m beside myself. Not sure what this post is really, just tired of sounding like a broken record.

What credentials do you need to get into MBB. I have a 4 yr B.E undergrad and an MIS grad degree. Worked for an IT services firm for 2.5 years, Deloitte for a year and now KPMG. Any tips?

Has anyone ever been hired for a job you were definitely not qualified for? How did it go? I have been interviewing for a position with a higher title + different industry + different role than what I am doing today and somehow I keep moving on to the next round. Am I just imposter syndrome-ing myself or is this a bad idea?

About to pull the trigger on an uplift v2 standing desk and I live in a 710sqft apt. I'm considering either 48x30, which fits perfectly in a nook beside my couch, or do I push it and get 60x30? It won't fit in the nook, but will still fit in-between couch and the wall. Nervous about moving into a smaller apt at some point and being stuck with a large desk.

I’ve been proposed an exit as Product Owner at a real company, not a consulting one. Staff seems nice, good culture, good salary (less than consulting but well), BUT I would have to move countries for that job and start a new life. I’ve also been proposed a Manager position at a consulting company in my home city, with potential of bigger salary thanks to bonuses. Culture seems good... But I’m sure it’s gonna be a hell lot of work. Which one would you take? Should I exit and never look back?

Can somebody pls explain this to me: if somebody has a medical emergency and needs to use short term disability, the firm says they need to pay for all of their other benefits at the full rate, not the employee discounted rate, so like $400 for health insurance instead of $100. Do they ever reimburse this money or is this the terrible setup they have if you need to use your disability benefits? I feel like I'm missing something.

Has anyone taken Wellbutrin and experienced side effects? I’m 3 weeks into trying it out, and it’s worked better and faster than my prior antidepressants. I don’t know if it’s just the latest physical symptom of burnout (which has been making me sick a lot lately) or if I’m experiencing some kind of side effect from the new meds.
