Annoying how the hospitality industry cut corners for COVID precautions but now are still keeping those corners cut just due to it saving money. Think it'll ever return back to normal completely?
If my manager says they have proposed a promotion for me, and approval will take two months, when do I celebrate? What % of proposed promotions actually materialize ?
Folks that have recovered from covid which symptoms took the longest to wear off? I just had cough and mild fever.. I’m into week 4 but cough just doesn’t seem to go away, any advice/tips?
Looking to buy a new watch to celebrate a recent promotion. Stuck between the JLC Master Ultra Thin Moon and the JLC Reverso Classic and wanted to get the bowl’s opinions. For context, the other pieces I have right now are the Rolex Submariner Date 16610 and the Rolex Daytona Ceramic Black 116500ln. Also open to any alternatives!
Italy lost 133 doctors/dentists while they were treating Covid.. No other disease killed this many medical professionals for treating them in such a short time. Please take it seriously. Anyone who tells you masks don’t work is an idiot. I get news from my home country too and no one understands why some people are claiming masks don’t work here. Culture of anti-science among some groups of people here are real and detrimental to everybody else.
Just checked in for a flight tomorrow AM. Slowly feeling like the pre-COVID version of myself
Protests scared coronavirus away!
Found out I'm getting a promotion! But the raise is lower than another coworker is getting who isn't getting a title bump. Any tips for starting a dialogue? Can I negotiate? Never done this before...
For those furloughed or not working overtime in this period: is COVID-19 helping you create a side hustle or alternate stream of income?
Got an offer from another company with 50% increase. Current company matched it. Think the match will affect my raise at the end of the performance year?
We’ve only been in person for two weeks and there’s already classes being quarantined because of COVID... so who’s idea was this to come back? Kinda feeling the need to say “I told you so”. 🙄
Partner poll - is COVID causing you to fundamentally rethink whether you want to stay in consulting? Cannot stop thinking about using this disruptive moment to hang my own shingle and do something completely different - buy/start a small business. 22 years in consulting. Partner 7 yrs. Young family.
I have a review soon and I’m due for a promotion (so I’ve been told). I’m taking the lead on a big project right now (for our biggest client). If I am to be offered a raise, can I negotiate? Continued
People who had covid: Are you out dating as normal and not telling people you had covid? People who haven’t had covid: Are you willing to date people who had covid ?
Some of my peers who are going for promotion got the call from our RP last week when I was on vacation. I haven't heat anything yet last/this week, does it mean I didn't get it? :/
I have a question/topic that has been on my mind since this whole COVID thing started. With all the anti-Asian sentiment going on, companies (at least mine) are now all of a sudden reacting TBC..
This article is a good read in terms of how to handle the COVID-19 crisis: https://blog.shrm.org/blog/promoting-workplace-mental-health-in-the-age-of-covid-19
Ladies, I love facials and massages but can’t justify a full-blown spa trip even though I’d love one (2022 or whenever Covid threat is minuscule). How did you consider the cost? Are there R&R trips out there with this kind of pampering that won’t break the bank?
My work was very understaffed prior to COVID. I hope the healthcare industry learns from this experience and increases staffing appropriately.
FAANG folks - what are Facebook/Google roles like Country Lead/Industry Lead equivalent to? Are these Director level roles? What sort of compensation can you expect in something like that role?
Thoughts on getting a MS in Systems Engineering? Is it still relevant/competitive against a MS in Comp Sci/Data Science for Product Management/Startup roles? What exactly can you do with it? Assuming a top program.
Currently have an active H1B stamp and I am inside the US. Does anyone know if we are allowed to leave the US for a vacation to a country not under travel ban and still return to the US?
On an E2 with current company and have an offer from another firm and now thinking they logistics. Should I hold off quitting until the new E2 is successful just in case it’s denied? Will applying for a second visa flag a problem?
Things to do before putting in notice? So far I have: spend fitness subsidy, transfer Amex points, spend tech subsidy. What else?
I'm totally confused how Marriott could be charging $1700 for a hotel this week when others in the area are only $300-500 for M-Th ... aqa
Any PwC 🐬 stay like 2 hrs away from home office in middle of nowhere... expense more than $150 in taxi to go to nearest airport... all to have cheap housing, work life balance(NYC 🐬 here)
Just got laid off today. Manager fought really hard for me, but senior threw me under the bus to my career advisor. Oh well on to the next challenge.
Deloitters who have left for MBB or a big 4- did you get fired when you told your leadership? How did that work? Do you now answer “yes” when asked if you’ve ever been fired from a job?
Shark 🦈 fam - Exploring a direct admit MD1 opp in ACN Canada. Looking for comp $ range for MD1. Also any insights on recent direct admit hiring trends? Many thanks!
Was at an event recently. Seems like advertising really only cares about diversity as it applies to white women. I think this industry wants to stay white.
Anyone in sales/customer success/similar role interested in new tools for communication with clients? Seeking user feedback on a new product!
Just promoted to M1 in Michigan. Base salary is now $88,300 (+4% bonus of $3k for total of $91,300). Wondering how this compares to others out there, and if I should be happy or disappointed, lol.
Interviewing with Accenture with a range of $175 -185k for first year Senior Manager. It seems low to travel for 4 days a week. What’s typical for 1st year SMs?
Recently laid off from Sr. Consultant role in energy in Houston. 4 years exp in supply chain/procurement and 2 in consulting (mainly tech PM work aka scrum). Have my MBA and PSM 1 cert.
