Got stuck in client city on Thursday night, client that's been flirty for the whole project wants to go out tonight. Should I go? I have a girlfriend but think this could be good for my career.

What does going out with your client have to do with your GF? You are assuming you are going to be romantic with the client? Just be normal, professional and slightly charming but don't be romantic....

like

Good professional dinner with client is necessity of climbing the ladder. And if you are not getting personal with bed and breakfast next day go for it. And I would tell my gf before you head out. You can get so many projects to further your career but getting life partner is way difficult.

Lol what? You don't need to fuck the client...

No relationships with the client. Period. How dumb are you? I'm embarrassed we even hired you.

How does it help you get a better review? And the fact that you wouldn't tell your gf about it makes this super sketchy

As a principal, there is absolutely nothing about this situation that will help your review. It can, however, get you fired. Which office?

This is a lose lose situation. Let's say your client is interested in you and she makes a move:
A. You go along with it, and you just cheated on your girlfriend... Dick. Might even lead to awkwardness in the workplace and a worse review
b. You reject her and its awkward AF. Worse review.

Headed to dinner now. I'll keep you all updated

Does Deloitte pay the earned PTOs, if I plan to quit?

Hi—looking for some advice here. I worked remote for 2 years during COVID and just started going back to the office 3 days a week (9-6 pm). I know I was very productive during COVID because I got promoted and my pay was increased 50% (mainly why I’m torn, was making 82k then within a year + graduating with my masters I’m making 125k). The return to office is killing me, I think it is causing anxiety and depression because I’m being forced back into a micromanagement environment—time to move on?

So I want to get into management consulting (in a much less technical capacity and smaller workplace) but keep thinking "how good I have it" at EY. I am fairly early in my career, can someone tell me how they effectively got themselves mentally prepared to move on?

I know convention is not to be the first to throw out a number when negotiating salary, but isn’t it advantageous to state the number you’re willing to move for (provided you’ve done your research for the role)? Otherwise the hiring firm can open with a low figure, then anything you counter beyond that makes you look unreasonable. Whereas if you put a number out first, the onus is on them to meet it.
