Got the blood test, I have the antibodies. My company is WFH through next year. I hate WFH. I am considering renting a WeWork spot, simply to go through the actions of going to work and coming home from work. Is this a crazy idea?

I wouldn’t spend the money on that. If you want variety of where to work, how about a coffee shop?

That’d be super loud and distracting

Genuine question: do we know for certain antibodies confer immunity? If so how long?

like

We have no idea. Antibody tests also have a high false-positive percentage (people who test positive get a second antibody test and test negative)

Won't that be more uncomfortable? You go to an office, with no one that you work with, to sit in a glass box. My office had a wework on the other side of London. I hated being there on my own, and I'm a happy introvert. It's these little glass boxes, with loud hardwood floors, and you watch strangers walk around you. Don't recommend.

I had the test and mine was negative.

Ok!

Have you looked into the cost of those? Much more than I thought.

Might as well just put that money toward a nicer home to work from.

I can’t explain the psychology behind it. For example, my building is next door to another building with a great restaurant. People travel from all over to go to that restaurant. I never get all dressed up to tell my wife, “We’re getting all dressed up to go next door.” It’s weird, for some reason. It’s completely illogical. It’s like, my mind needs separation between my home and everywhere else.

No guarantee Antibodies make you immune, no guarantee the virus won’t mutate into a new strand...too many unknowns. If you rent the wework spot, just make sure you understand there are still some risks, but I understand why you want to change ‘offices’

Agreed. I don’t see tracing as a possibility. OP as long as you under stand the risk and are willing to pay. Also let’s hope we work doesn’t go under...

Hey all - I am at a regional firm in the northeast (300 employees) that recently started a search to include permanent remote, full time or part time roles in every facet of our tax group. We honestly are growing quickly (below average turnover) and just need more good people as our client base grows. Good management, very fair compensation, and an actually flexible work environment (we have quite a few part time / reduced hours) and advancement opportunities... Give me a shout!

Anyone else tired of the assumption that because you’re a partner you have to think a certain way and believe certain things. I’m talking about wokeness, work from home, and the recent ever constant pushing of the needle to the left or risk getting “cancelled”. I’m fairly liberal politically so for me to be saying this I think may say something for the current climate. I should be able to hold and express my own opinions without being quashed because I’m not “woke” enough.

With all this extra, often unnecessary, communication while my company works remote, I’ve been having an awful time getting actual work done. So I’ve started to block off major chunks of my day every morning and put up an autorespond message saying I’m focusing on a deliverable, but will be available to respond at x time and if it’s an emergency to text. HOLY SHIT. What a game changer. I can actually get work done guilt free. I realize not everyone is able to do this, but if you can, do it.

There is a paralegal (not mine) in my firm that is making everyone miserable. She cries at her desk, complains about being overworked and is rude to the other paralegals, staff, and a couple of the attorneys. She is so disrespectful to me that I recently asked to work from home for a month (I am dealing with some other mental health issues and she is too much). My request was granted, and last Friday I was in the office to make sure several motions were filed properly. Continued in comment:
