Got the interview done today with HCL Technologies technologies. When I was asked what’s your expectation, I said 75%. The interviewer said can’t give more than 10-15% as it’s the market standard for PM. On top of that, I was told that I should be working on Au/Nz time zone only, non-negotiable. McK interview is coming up in 2 w. Was approached by recruiters two weeks ago (have nice specialization). I’ve not done a case before and based on my McK coach’s feedback - structure needs work , maths and everything else is ok. My self reflection is that without time constrain - structure is ok, but overall need more work. Any advice on how to efficiently prep /accelerate the structuring and where to find coaches /peers to practice? Happy to pay for this, not sure which ones are reliable/good?

H1-B visa restamping timeline? (Brazil)

I literally just came back from the Visa restamping appointment to drop off my passport in São Paulo.

The secretary informed me that even though I am eligible for the interview waiver, they have no ETA as to when my passport will be returning to my residence in Brazil.

Signed an offer with another consulting firm. Linkedin recruiter got back to me for an interview with a role I’m interested in but the pay will be 10k less base and most likely a much lower TC. The perfectionist post made me think this is a good place to ask: how do you deal with a manager or team lead who's micromanaging or refusing to delegate? I like my team lead but everything down to the smallest detail has to be checked and rechecked by him and it slows down EVERYONE else. Our team is doing really good work, it's just taking longer than it should and it's frustrating to feel like he doesn't trust our skills at all.

Roth or Trad 401K?
$210K in yearly household income + 10% bonus (just wife and I, both 32y.o.).
Take home pay is about $140K - includes 401K contributions and health benefits.

Can't decide if Roth makes sense as I don't anticipate our retirement income will exceed current spending levels. I get the appeal of tax free withdrawals but at the expense of paying more up front. Any advice?

I am in TAC for a fairly large networking company. I am making 48k a year with decent benefits and unlimited PTO. I love working at this company and my boss is fantastic. However, I feel as though I am being underpaid given my credentials. I have my CCNA and almost have my CWNA. I am coming up on a year at the company and want to start either negotiating higher pay or looking elsewhere. What should I do and how should I go about it?

I’ve started to block recruiters on LinkedIn for the last month. I can’t tell you how many just send out some generic email with a job that has nothing to do with mine. I understand the pressures of recruiting / smile and dial culture but at least be in the ball park. The best is when you speak to them and they go “oh this job requires 7-10 years exp, so you have that?” Just LOOK AT THE RESUME. I’ll probably never work with an agency ever again after the last few months.
