This isn't a meme but I saw it this morning on my uber ride to my client in Ireland. Funny stuff
Client just scheduled a meeting for later today and sent a to do for me in preparation. We haven’t agreed on a meeting and we’re in theory on holidays until after NYE. What would you ladies do? A. Do it and not say anything? B. Do it, but write an email back that these things should be discussed in advance? C. Ignore it and write an email later saying I wasn’t online? I actually am home, but I just hate it that they always assume we’re working around the clock and never even bother asking.
What would be a good approach of moving from public accounting (big 4) to the client (industry)? When one applies, I assume people at your firm would immediately get to know about it?
Agencies (in-house or otherwise) who are worth making an effort for in Austin, TX, specifically for project managers and creative operations? Asking for a friend. (FOR REAL.)
I feel like I’m not learning anything at my internship. It’s easy work and good pay though. Should I try to take on another project or multiple to try to gain more experience? But I was told it’ll be much harder and I would be expected to work longer hours and managers will be rough on me. Is this worth it when I go to school full-time as well while trying to balance a part time job? (The internship at D is expected to be part time but they might make me work more).
“oh look a boring line up of 3 cars that all look the same” - says the intern looking over my shoulder at a print layout i have open. (our biggest client is automotive supplier) 🤦🏽♀️
Got an offer from Guidehouse as a senior consultant in HIA back in January. The recruiter is MIA and not coming up with joining date and giving reasons like other PRoject team was put on bench and they will be allocated first before giving joining dates to the new hires. What should I do...if the recruiter comes back with the joining date. Should I join? What is the business situation at Guidehouse right now?
Scam artists that appear somewhat legit, but then cracks start to appear in their narratives. In my case, I have a potential client purportedly from Japan who says he said he wanted me to negotiate a P and A to sell industrial storage storage tanks to a business in North America. Now, it’s coming that that business is purportedly an investment firm, with 12 other businesses in a joint venture to purchase the tanks, that wants to send me checks to go into my IOLTA account. Sim. stories?
6 months in at a new firm. 4th year attorney. Completely new practice area from what I did previously. The partner often sends the random potential client call ins my way. Many times, they have questions related to things I’ve never done and he only provides guidance if I can pull him away from something else to ask. I’m super low on hours but feel that it would be ethically wrong to take on a case involving an issue Im totally unfamiliar with and not confident handling. Wrong approach?
What does your firm do for evening meals if you work late? Most of our offices bring in a meal couple of nights a week but will no reimburse if in town and working late at a client.
A colleague shared with me the presentation they have prepared for their promotion case. I worked with them on multiple projects during the year and I can clearly see that some of the claims on the deck are wild exaggeration or lies. For example, managed changes in scope for Project X including contract changes. Plot twist: there never was a change of scope for Project X and the contract is exactly the same. How can people be so dishonest? How far can you go before truth catching up?
I have a job, and I’m grateful that I do! But it makes me extremely unhappy. I’m talked down to constantly, our client treats us like we’re dumb and they have no trust for the creative team, and I’m constantly anxious. How do I find a new gig during these (forgive me for saying this) unprecedented times? Or what do I do/say if I want to switch accounts within my agency? I need some advice from other women who’ve been through this and succeeded at finding something that makes them happier.
How would you test a PayPal account? My first year client has it as one of their “cash accounts”...Through reviewing the PayPal statement, it looks like they keep their customer payments in it and use to pay out refunds to customers, so I’m not even seeing any transfers to their main bank accounts
I’ve been feeling like my new project is super draining. I’m constantly working. Learning new things but my client team has some very difficult personalities. How do just not care as much?
How long is it going to take my project to realize that I just nap during the day? I’ve been trying to roll off for months and it isn’t working. I noticed only people with bad performance roll off this thing, so giving it a go!
I knew i was underpaid, but didn’t realize just how much until my client offered a 60% pay bump...
Why are they so obsessed with talking about cancel culture? Every single speaker has brought it up
What type of self help strategies do individuals actually find helpful when you feel burn out or stuck in a rut? Any books, apps, meditation, podcasts, etc, others find helpful? I've done therapy and it has definitely helped this past year with covid and a marriage separation, starting to feel like I'm making progress and want to keep up the momentum. Looking to see what type of self help others find actually beneficial and would love to use that to help others stuck in burn out too

EY 🐠 - potentially starting with the firm soon, and my partner is due to have our first in April. Given the 1 year service requirement for leave, would I have the option to take PTO during birth and use parental leave after my 1 year of service? Appreciate any guidance here
Currently in the US but interviewing for a UK-based firm and role. The comp level they are throwing around is £250k TC. Is this reasonable for a Director-level role with 12 YOE? My comparator would be wait 18-24mo to become a consulting partner - in the US that starts at $450k/£325k. For the purposes of this question, assume I’m optimizing for initial comp, not long term potential, and not livability, Intl experience, WLB, CoL etc. Thanks!
I think it might be stressing my wife out, but there’s not much in life that I want anymore. I have everything I need. The only thing I wanted for Father’s Day is to stay in bed for an hour with a cup of coffee.

I got an offer from Fujitsu for 22 LPA without much of negotiation. They said they don't have variable in their CTC. Am I missing something here? This has shocked me. The role is for an Architect for SAP warehousing Domain. YOE: 5 years.
Expecting our first in about 6-8 weeks. Both my wife and I work at places with strong parental leave policies. We are considering staggering our leaves (I’d take a couple weeks right when the baby is born, then go back to work until her leave runs out, then go out) to save $$ on child care. Would also have a bit of family help during the first 4-6 weeks as well. Any experienced dads think this is a bad idea?
Any other benefits/allowances in Capgemini?
