I’m a CPA and originally got into this for a stable / interesting job, but in the long-term I’d like to do something that either influences drafting of tax legislation or helps the public (however naive that may sound). Perhaps I’ve gotten too introspective during the pandemic. Don’t really want to go back for a JD and aside from keeping a roof over my head I’m not very motivated by money. Looking to apply to MBB at 1-2 YOE after undergrad. Undergrad GPA isn’t bad, but not MBB quality. Will it help if I take the GMAT early and include the score on my app? How high is good enough? 750+?

Is anyone currently studying for the CMA exam? Or passed the CMA exam? Im slowly losing motivation to study due to extreme burn out. I took the part 1 exam and failed by 20 points. Considering pivoting into a local MM IB. As my title suggests, my technical skills aren’t as honed as one who has focused on the analysis route. How much of being an Analyst at a smaller IB is technical skill heavy coming into the role? I hold my 7, 66, 24, and am not worried about getting the 79. Any input for how realistic this is? When looking at one particular firm’s career page it doesn’t mention technical skills or modeling once, which led me to believe it may be less important than soft.
