$50 was my food budget per week in college

like

Lol she was probably trying to avoid paying for you :)

like

Seriously? Did you grow up incredibly privileged? I would need to make an effort to spend $50+ on a solo dinner. 😑

like

Room service at westin with a glass of wine will easily run you $50+

We have a $50 limit for solo dining. $75 when with teammates. Can go over when partner is there.

like

No, she lied so she'd get a laugh out your FB post.

like

So you can't ever treat yourself to like a $75 steak dinner alone? Is that real? Even for a manager?

like

$50 is a good budget for dinner. I think much more is wasteful every night. From what I've seen on FB Deloitte are the worst offenders deciding to always spend a lot when it's not their dime.

like

I rarely go over $50 on dinner (maybe once every four months) but it's not about privilege. If you order sushi for delivery, in between the food + delivery fee + tip it's not hard to go over $50

like

$50 is plenty for a great solo dinner.

like

Deloitte's general guidance is $10 $20 $30 for bfast lunch dinner while traveling. But on a day-by-day basis you can do whatever you want really, as long as your controller doesn't get mad at you

like

A hard limit when solo dining. Expenses will force you to pay difference.

like

$50 is my food budget when local for the week m-th.

like

Wow

like

That's the policy at EY

like

I regularly go over 100 for dinner + drinks after dinner

like

How spoiled does one have to get? At my location we only get $55 per diem. Cannot handle.

like

Potentially.

Is it a hard limit MK? Or just "suggested"

Hey guys. I have a soon to be nonprofit church struggling because they already started services (collecting offerings too against my advice) before things were set with an EIN and they gave an event already planned out and are trying to find a way to spend and collect before the things are in order. They want to know if one of their small business owners can expense and collect then consider it a donation. Is this possible? Any advice or loopholes that are Legal and will avoid issues later on?

At a former company, they let you expense $20 for working 10+ hours in a day, but you could never use it because it would always be rejected. Recently started at a new firm, and I had a rough week last week (two 14+ hour days). New firm has a similar policy, so I asked. Was told not to submit the $20 reimbursements. Just as I was about to get frustrated, he told me I should get dinner for my wife and me. Only rule was to keep it under $100. Don't like working 14 hour days, but this was nice.

“Per diem” meal expenses are EXPLOITATION. $50 is not enough for a single meal at a hotel restaurant, let alone an entire DAY for food. Shifting travel costs onto your employees = evil. Yes i mad :<

I'm thinking of making the move this winter in order to cut my housing expense by more than half and to put my daughter in better Catholic school. My employer doesn't care where we live so long as we can get to an airport. I grew up in a small town, so it wouldn't be a shock to me, just worried about how it may affect my career trajectory.
