Got it this year here. Four years of not getting picked up.

1. I think the probability of you getting it is ~33% (I think every year there's 200k-250k petitions filed for 65000 + 20000 h1-b). Correct my numbers if I'm wrong. I think your chances of not getting it are ~66% every time and not ~25%. 2. If you have a masters then I think you might want to use 8 times rather than 5 because masters quota petition get added to general quota if they are not picked. Let me know the updated numbers?

No it’s fine, I didn’t find it condescending. I had to make some major life decisions, but it could have been much worse

In the EXACT same boat as you.

In the exact same boat except my STEM OPT is already done. Very disappointing but hey it’s not in our control so finding a next step is a better option than dwelling in the frustration. I transitioned to Day1 CPT in January and so far it’s not been bad. It works as a good short-term plan. Long term plan is complete GC here or move to Canada. There’s always another option, it just may not be our first choice

Same boat here. Had to move to remote work outside of usa (it’s possible), while I apply for a canadian visa… DM if you want some ideas

I am interested in discussing joint marketing efforts with other solo practitioners (DC, VA, MD area) where we could have 1-2 lawyers within each legal specialty. I am federal practitioner (bankruptcy, tax, immigration, federal compliance, employment),so I could refer many other types matters to a joint group. We could maintain our solo practices, but have more joint marketing

I currently have my green card process ongoing with Publicis Sapient; I-485 was filed more than 180 days ago, however, the I-140 is not approved yet. If I leave for another employer at this stage, is it likely that they might withdraw the I-140 which would mean withdrawing the green card process completely? I do have a previously approved EB2 I-140 which was downgraded to EB3 I-140 in October last year and is awaiting approval.

It’s been a grueling 18 months, for everyone. There’s a unique story I’d like to share and it’s my own but I have to believe it’s not only mine. I was privileged enough to be able to WFH during the pandemic and change jobs to a fully remote job during this time. The isolation has become so complete, with the lack of connection and professional rapport or daily respect/clarity thru slack convos and sporadic zoom - I’m at an all time mental low barely able to start this Monday morning.
