Yes. You will continue to go through this at different stages of your life. I’ve made new friends and kept the old from HS/College/marriage/cross-country move, etc.
My college friends are “my people.” We graduated awhile ago and live all throughout the US. We have a group text that we actively participate in (I’m talking daily even if it’s just a hello), make an effort to get together in a fun new location each year and call each other to catch up. It’s all about the effort you put in to keep those relationships alive and thriving.
Of course. You're not alone. Finding friends - real friends with whom you are truly comfortable and worry-free - are every bit as hard to find as a good match for dating. Sometimes you'll come across someone who you click with right away, other times you may struggle before you figure out if you've found a keeper or not. But you'll make friends wherever you go, somehow, sooner or later...it's just one of those pars of life that comes with not staying stagnant forever in the same place you were born and raised.
