Graduating December 2022 with a masters. How early should I start applying for consulting positions? I’m from the US originally and I’m not sure if timelines are different (e.g., in the US I could start applying now and they would keep me as a pipeline candidate). For background, I will not be applying for any graduate schemes but for experienced hire roles as I have 8 years of experience.

If there are open positions (I'm sure there will be), you could apply now to secure a role for when you graduate. Some may allow for flexibility to start a bit later. You can have that discussion when you initially speak to the recruiting team. Good luck

That’s great to know - thank you!

Normally applications start opening in May/June ish for a start date of Sep next year. That was the case for me, I had an offer from Deloitte by Dec 2018 and I was starting in Sep 2019.

Some firms also open their grad schemes at different times to accommodate for masters people I think.

Oh wow, yeah you could go for manager/senior manager positions easily, good luck! I think recruiters or referrals will make it a lot easier for you

Hello everyone! First-time poster here. I've been in a specific industry for 20 years and left a leadership position 1yr ago. I took a break for myself! I've been on the hunt for my new adventure (not in that industry). I am finding it hard! Majority of the time I don't hear back. When I do get interviews, I get "we decided not to fill this role," or I get to the final round and am not selected. I am looking for advice on my resume and cover letter. I want to get more hits on my applications.

Interested to hear thoughts on this: 5+ YOE in FS consulting as an SC at tier 3 firm. Interviewing at Deloitte for an SC position. I have a good reputation and setup at my firm and am on a great track to make Manager in 1-2 years. However, no one has heard of my firm and am really interested in a M7 MBA before I'm 30 (so enroll in 2-3 years). What is more valuable for an MBA: making manager at a no name firm or the "prestige" of having Deloitte on my resume?

Anyone know if you can move laterally / different team at a company if you only been hired 5-6 months ago?

Any Private Organization will go for lay-off if they are not generating profit(Even Netflix). Remember, all Tech Giants today we see were once a startup.
Why I preferred StartUp --> because developing from scratch is not possible in most organizations but StartUp and I preferred "learning and Money" more than "WLB and stability" at this age. If the question will be asked after 5 years from now, I may have preferred less salary and More WLB, but that is not the scenario right now.
