“The classic epidemiological approach to controlling disease is not to shut down society; it’s to target the people you know to have the disease and understand who they’re spreading it to,” Konyndyk says. “We can’t do that right now because we don’t have enough testing to know who has the disease.” -from the artcle

Has anyone left healthcare and is now really happy? I’m an MSN, RN with 12 years hospital experience. I’m burned out and tired of making crap pay. I have an opportunity outside of healthcare that would pay more and challenge me in new ways that I haven’t experienced before. It’s a total shift that would really heal my work-life balance, job satisfaction and budget. My only fear is that I would not be using the license and degree that I worked so hard for. I would appreciate any input!!!!

With COVID and now the riots, I’m finding it difficult to find the motivation to work with a huge client deliverable coming up. I feel bad because I feel genuinely depressed (Ive been breaking down constantly and hiding it from my wife) and helpless when there are actual people getting hurt and I’m living a fairly comfortable life joking about minor inconveniences (I dont bemoan anyone who does though) while working from home. And I basically feel like I don’t deserve to feel this way

Hi guys I have an offer from Accenture and no issues in terms of CTC, job profile or other things. The only thing I am skeptical about is the job security. Do they really get rid of employees in a regular basis or the covid situation was a one time measure? This would probably be the last switch in my career and security would be of utmost importance to me. Please advise

So somehow (I have no idea how) I’m graduating this semester in about 3 years with a degree in Finance.

I’m on an F-1 Visa so I couldn’t even legally get an internship my first year, also Covid started 3 weeks after I began my undergrad. I know thousands went through the same and worse so I pushed myself hard and improved my resume as much as I can.

Now I’m approaching my graduation in December and still no FT role (I received one but got ghosted).

What would you do if you’re in my shoes?

So Friday when I came in, she left a sticky note on my desk saying “things u forgot to do before leaving” and it said “ you didn’t tell anyone u were leaving, u didn’t remind ur coverage person, incomplete assignment”

Very awkward Zoom meeting with a broker. Thanked him at the end and tried many subtle ways of ending the call (eg let you know if I need anything else). He just kept responding with “yeah no problem. Happy to help” not helping me naturally end the call at all. After a long awkward pause, I just said “ok well have a nice day bye” and he LAUGHED and said “…bye?” I swear I’m not the awkward one!!! Dear boss,

We are perfectly aware you're too busy to deal with this right now - but we're equally as perfectly aware that you know:

We suggest you try to keep the bosses we don't collectively hate alive! Pro-tip: "crying" means "stressed and unhappy"

Sincerely, all of us!

What does everyone think about the probability of a recession? I got two interesting opinions yesterday. My loan officer (we are closing on a house next week) thinks a recession is imminent which will push down rates and give me the ability to refinance. A financial advisory (he helps me manage a relatively small IRA) thinks we have a 20% chance of a recession and this pullback is a good opportunity to buy broad based index funds (as a long term investment). I realize each have motives.
