Most creative person in my personal life and least creative person in my work life

#thissssss
I love the wide range of different projects I get to work on. On the same note, I wish I had an opportunity to become an expert in one thing. (Double edged sword I suppose!)
Thanks for sharing this article! That gives me much hope!
Does wearing multiple hats count for both?

TOTES
I love getting to touch so many things: creative, marketing, events, PR, influencer relationships...
but also like I don’t have time to excel at everything. Jack of all trades now - when I used to be a master of one! (Was an agency creative director in my previous life)
Love the ability to set a high level strategy and vision
Hate the cross functional congestion impeding anything actually getting done
Omg yes. Non marketing people seem to just not get the importance of certain things and it requires me to micro manage bc when I’m not looking they use off brand materials or post entire emails on social media.
Love the creative opportunities, Hate the politics and bureaucracy that slows down creative work (this executive needs to be briefed, that executive needs to sign off, 😠)

I love my company and getting to own various projects/channels (I was very micromanaged at my last job).
But I also hate being a jack of all trades - this typically leads to any new marketing task coming to me and I am managing so many moving pieces.
Omg same. Lately I’ve been trying to initiate convos with my career manager to express to her that I don’t want to become a graphic designer, and I would like to have time to do the things that actually interest me, like strategy.
I love that I’m really good at my job. I hate how difficult it is to make others understand the importance of certain things that fall within my line of work. For example, we have a LinkedIn page and since I support 2 projects, I don’t always have the time to micromanage what gets posted. I’ve written out best practices and even explained things during meetings, but they keep posting email type language and other things that just don’t work for social media.
🤦♀️ I feel you! “Guys....STOP with the robot speak!”
Rbis might just be because I work at such a large firm but I hate the number of different teams I have to work with and all the approvals I have to go through. It takes so long to get things done and sometimes things never take off because I just can’t get through all the layers.
The worst! So exhausting
Love: being able to create true automation and see huge benefits to the organization
Hate: people assuming automation is just email (which is such a small piece).
Hello! I’ve been looking for marketing automation fellows on here and noticed you in a couple of groups I’m in so wanted to reach out and see what kind of marketing automation you do? I work in a variety of platforms but am trying to be better in Marketo. You?
Hate my current team manager but love the company I work for!
Love the helpfulness of my new team, and my refreshingly FAIR, considerate, and thoughtful boss.. and lack of interpersonal drama. Hate the thought of eventually needing to travel to (crappy, far away HQ city) because the dept will not shift to a part time WFH situation post-COVID.
I’ve always worn multiple hats because I felt that allowed me to better diversify my skill sets but sometimes I find it mentally fatiguing and overwhelming at times. #doubleegdedsword

Feel you...it’s a double edged sword indeed! One of the keys here is to remember that just because you CAN do something doesn’t mean you should be the one to do it. Do you feel like you have the right team around you to help take on some of the more overwhelming stuff that doesn’t need you as QB?
I love the projects I get to work on and the people I’ve met. I get to collaborate with some really smart people. Now they’re some of my closest friends. We have so much control over process and what contractors to hire.
I hate that my manager has no idea how a creative team works. I’ve been told to work with a terrible team mate over and over because he’s an exec fav. We don’t have a project manager and we basically have to do any production work ourselves.
I’m never bored and I’m never bored.
