A1, I described it as commonplace based on the trend I saw in Fishbowl after Susan Fowler's blog, most of consultants here described Uber's HR handling and misbehaviors as "common" in most companies. But I agree with you. It is disgusting.
Friend of mine who used to work in Uber at upper level (Head of --) rejected to give referral by saying "you don't want to work here and I am deadly serious". And that guy worked in Amazon, which is notorious for its culture and he described Uber for worse. I thought it was a bs but now I understand why.
