Life lessons: Do not correct a fool; he will hate you. Correct a wise man, he will appreciate you!
Has anyone started a company while consulting with intent of making it a full time gig?Tips/risks? Lessons learned?
So true. I have gotten a lesson for life.
I'd love to connect with other elementary librarians to discuss lesson ideas, class management styles, etc.!
What’s the best way to learn golf? Take lessons?
8 years for me. What lessons did you learn from dating around? For how long? https://youtu.be/BkV_g9BGk1U
Recently I have been exploring a career change but a successful first shot at IUI has me panicking about staying or going. Any lessons learned on how to approach this huge decision?
Fam! Deciding to get arranged marriage. If the potential SO is in India, what are your lessons learnt, do and don’ts, and things to keep in mind while talking to them. How did you do it?
Secretly find COVID19 to be a good lesson for someone just starting their career- taught me to save up for a rainy day, cherish everything in life and stop taking “normal” things for granted 🙏
I heard a commercial on the radio for Verizon that said something to the effect that parents are now learning how to lesson plan. Are any of you off the hook for lesson planning? Just wondering because I’m over here busting my butt!
Does anyone have reccos for online classes, resources, or even books for guitar and/or bass lessons? I have taught myself both and can carry a tune but have found myself hitting a wall from lack of music theory or technical knowledge and would love to be able to just jam a bit more as opposed to looking up chords of songs I like.
What was that trainwreck last night?!?!? I know we're not supposed to talk about politics, but my comment is bipartisan. Our gov is a mess and our leaders unbecoming! What will our students learn from this? What can we do to make it a teachable lesson?
I know it's early to even mention this, but has anyone starting preparing lessons for the fall? I want to create a remote learning webquest (how to use remote learning tools) so that students are prepared for anything.
I have a straight-A student who is 2 points away from an A in my class (after grading her midterm exam). Should I give her the A or would giving her exactly what she has earned teach her valuable lesson?
What is the purpose of a flipped classroom? Some teachers are doing their lessons via video so the kids are prepped before class. Then, what do they do in class?
How did you start golfing? Trying to look for instructors and lessons but not sure where to start
Joined industry to look for more stability and less travel. Industry role ended up giving me more anxiety than consulting ever did. Lessons learned: The grass is not always greener...
Thinking of taking up golf as I’m getting more and more requests to play with colleagues and clients. I was planning to get a few lessons and go to hit a bucket once a week or so here in the
Thinking about getting into the market but it’s too risky since the premium is high and the fundamentals are murky. A lesson that I learned is that patience is needed in this environment.
Anyone hear any guidance on Federal client work yet? I don’t know who the “partial” govt shutdown applies to.... non-essential govt staff and contractors? Thanks. Sorry for the holiday question .
Lady SAs and Managers, PwC FS comp thread. Gents feel free to comment. I want to check if ladies are achieving parity.
Sunday travel and guy going thru security ahead of me asks if its fly day since it's so busy, the TSA lady laughed at him. Also, if you have a small bag that can fit under the seat in front of you...
Are PwC human capital salary bands aligned with advisory bands? I.e. does a manager in IFS make the same as one in management consulting?
I want to move to a remote fishing village in SE Asia and live out my days without excel or ppt
Is it normal to get basically zero feedback? Brand new associate working at a mid sized firm. Been there a few months now and firm is still WFH. I get a fairly consistent amount of work. But I send my work product off into the ether and typically hear nothing or very little back (even when I follow up). I’ve gotten same vague “good work” feedback but that’s about it. I’ve drafted memos to clients and some briefs that have been sent/submitted nearly verbatim, so I assume that’s a good sign.
Really afraid that MBAs will go back to remote and that I will waste the opportunity to get the time of my life
Can Someone helps the perks given by Deloitte usi 1) Amount of Insurance Coverage 2) Car On Lease 3) phone reimbursement over and above CTC 4) Budget for Phone. PwC give 27000 for phone upto manager level 5) any other benefits which I may not be able to think now
Not completely an investment question but I’m going to ask anyway. In 2020 my daughter got braces. Based on consultation in 2019 I was told insurance pays $1,000 and my out of pocket would be $1,600 so I set up a limited FSA (in addition to HSA) in 2020 for the $1,600. She got the braces in Oct 2020 and I paid the 1,600 out of the limited FSA. I switched jobs in Dec 2020 and my insurance ended. I selected coverage at my new employer in Jan 2021 that doesn’t include orthodontia. Cont’d
Just sharing a few of my doors. You can save them to your phone and use them in your Bitmoji classrooms.
Trying to get a 45 y/o sibling in to consulting (was an entrepreneur prior in the restaurant industry). No college degree but willing to bust his but to learn. Books/online courses recommended pls
I’m in my mid-40s with a 7 year old and baby. Is it too late for me to back into public accounting? I was laid off last year and found a great job in a large bank. I miss the flexibility, challenge and rigor of PA. I would love your opinions. Has the ship sailed for me in PA? If I go back I would be an experienced senior; maybe, a year or so from manager.
So I’m leaving for school out-of-state in two weeks. Today I was invited to a friend’s vacation home with a small group next weekend. Should I go? I’m conflicted because my school recommends I quarantine for two weeks before coming to campus.
Sitting on offer for $120k, excellent benefits and only 40-50% travel. 3+ YOE. How do those of you with families deal with the FOMO of that extra ~20% pay you could get at more like 80% travel?
What is the average bonus for an associate?
Another laid off case here. Anyone moving out of US considered keeping the 401K as is instead of withdrawing? Any pros / cons to keep in mind ? Pro I see is no penalty and the fact that it'll continue to grow till I turn 65. Con is that it's a decent size amount in my case and I might need some if that cash if I don't get a job soon 🙄
Working as an audit staff in big 4 shared service centre. It's been 2 years. I really don't like what I do there, also it seems I won't like what I'll be doing there even after becoming senior. Thinking of leaving and joining industry once ACCA qualified. (One more paper left). But people around me discourage that growth potential and earnings in industry are way less compared to public accounting. I know that too but I still want to leave. I'd like to stick to core accounting. Thoughts pls
