Would you leave big-4 for a promotion to "Managing Director" role and a 30-50% salary raise at a Small to Midsize Consulting Firm?
Currently Staff 2 with MSF and MBA and one year prior industry experience, see a juicy consultant position at D that directly matches my skill set , chances?
Are there any attorney roles that are collaborative? I’m a transactional associate and there are aspects of my job that I really enjoy, but I can’t stand how solitary it is. (I don’t consider client conference calls collaborative haha) Long-term, I need to be in a role that requires more team work/collaboration/social interaction...but the longer I work as an attorney the more I feel like I’ll need to leave legal practice to get that. I’m wondering if there’s a legal option I haven’t considered
I found out this week during an exit interview that a senior male ex colleague had been regularly sexually inappropriate, physically and verbally for over a year to this individual.
Struggling with anxiety...anyone gone to a medical professional for this? Do you just go to a primary care doc first and then get a referral?
Any tips for making an exit into corp dev or FP&A? I have decent transaction experience, but I come from a no name boutique. All the online applications have been rejecting me without even a first round interview.
Hi all! For an experienced hire as a Human Capital Consultant at Deloitte, what should I expect the salary/sign-on bonus to be at a MCOL city? I have approx. 3.5 YOE (non-consulting), MBA and MS degree (non target school) and also SHRM certified (which is probably irrelevant for the role but thought I’d share anyways). Already did my research but the range is kind of all over the place for experienced hires so just want to have a ballpark. Thanks!
I wanted to flag so others can know, I live in mcol and I just received an offer for 120k base and a 15k signing bonus. I have three years of experience. I asked for a signing bonus and a 110k salary. If you are a senior, you should definitely be applying and just see what comes up. Crazy the market for seniors right now
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
Re lateral hiring: who can you expect to conduct an initial screener for amlaw50 firm? Secured an initial interview and just waiting for more details. Fingers crossed!
Just found out I made A2 -> SA1 🎉 and received an offer at Deloitte (Consultant level) 🎉 for the same exact salary. Both tech consulting, more IT strategy role at Deloitte. What should I do...?
Just had an interview with a jeopardy multi day winner, multiple degrees and majors from top schools, ex-mbb, and held a major position in a major US city governance, while now being a director at a F50 company. All before the age of 35. Makes me just so feel so dumb and insignificant despite knowing that's probably not healthy haha. Anyone else have a similar experience? What was that peron's background?
Name some good health tech exit opportunities from consulting! Currently getting a list ready
Has anyone here interviewed for Accenture’s product analyst role? Have an interview coming up tm and would appreciate any last minute advice. I really don’t know what to expect but have been studying the cracking the pm interview book
Been working for a year at my position. First full time gig programming. Even got interns and a raise. Still have no clue what the fuck I'm working with or doing.
Making the move into an investing PE role shortly. Anyone done this previously and have tips to share on ramping up for the job coming from a strategy consulting background?
Thinking about switching to another consulting firm and would love some clarity on other firm’s titles/promotion structure. I am currently a senior analyst and looking for a consultant level position
Anyone willing to provide a LinkedIn referral?
Any tips on negotiating severance package? What’s typical package for a NY lay off? How do we maximize the money we receive? I’ve also read things on the internet that say “don’t sign it on the spot.”
Has anyone else also not worked out since WFH was mandated… so like for over a year? I’ve been constantly low energy for months and want to slowly get back in the habit since I think it will help. Problem is I don’t feel too comfortable going to a public gym just yet. Any suggestions?
What kind of hours are you putting in on your current project? What's the industry? (E.g. Tech, in at 7:30AM, leave at 7PM, back online at 10PM)
Which is your preferred company for renter’s insurance? Considering Lemonade due to the low price, but should you just go with the big players? (Geico, State Farm, etc).
CA employment lawyer here who loves working with startups. AMA (caveat - this does not create an attorney client relationship).
Am I an attractive candidate at all? Or is it silly to think I could jump soon for a comp increase? 1 yoe BAH fed (7 yoe in nonprofit sector before that), currently at 90k. Have some generalist certifications (agile, prosci, working on instructional design). Non-technical, no master’s. Resume is mostly attractive bc of extensive international/cross-cultural experience & DoS experience. Am I still too “meh” with only 1yoe & no tech skills?
HR Rockstars - Curious if you have recommendations for change management 101 training for new managers?
Nice way to tell your client and her marketing team that they all schedules too many meetings and your teams can't get their god damn work done.
Boutique consulting firm vs Big 4, thinking of making the switch to get more structured support and learning... any thoughts? Attrition is rlly high at my firm and project deadlines have been delayed due to resource issues
How much does utilization matter at S&? Is it a simple over = ok/under = not ok metric? Does 100% get you less bonus than say, 110%? SA here so I'm pegged to 95%
Just wrapped up a 10 day vacation - didn’t go too overboard on food and stayed pretty active but drank almost every day (not normal for me). Could this be why I’m so bloated and feeling large?
Currently a manager at 5 YOE. Lots of experience in change management, tech implementations, stakeholder management, training/communication strategy, cross-functional work, & leading large teams to success. Want to move to tech, but never changed jobs and don’t even know where to begin applying/ what roles I’m fit for. Was anyone in a similar boat? Any advice appreciated!
Hello, As you may be aware of Deloitte's downsizing, I am one of the many to be laid off. Looking for opportunities in Analytics as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Business Intelligence. I have 7 years of expertise in applying statistics, operations research, data mining & business intelligence to address abstract business problems. Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I’m 11 wks pregnant and started this new project right as I got pregnant- it’s been such a tough project and I’m not able to keep up. I’m not sure what to do - I’ve totally fallen behind and am not sure how I’m going to be able to proceed. I need something slower paced. Do I tell them I’m pregnant or do I just keep trying to do my best. 😞
Yale SOM invitation already? Submitted 3 days ago, just wow. Any advice on prepping? This is my first interview, and I just absolutely bombed the video essay pretty much stammering through and repeating myself the entire time, so really wasn't expecting this... For the record they do rolling, so no need to fret or anything if you yet to receive an invitation.
