Also, they don’t waste time with Mercury which allows each person to be more productive and produce more income the the firm.
I think it’s because the big4 is a sweat shop and they know people will work for the big 4 because of the experience.
Partners make le$$.
Because it evens out at senior then big 4 pays better from there. Average partner draw at regional is significantly lower
I can’t refute your personal experience there of course. However, from the folks I have talked to, the general consensus is that during the senior years that pay gap evens out. I’m not gonna die on this hill though as I am by no means an expert on B4 vs regional comp lol
Less overhead and internal costs
Can speak from experience I make nowhere close to what B4 partner makes
Supply and demand. Smaller firms need to pay more to attract talent.
As a S3 and M1 in audit I made more than my midsize firm friends.
EY 1, not true. My friend at DHG makes 7k more than me, and I’m a senior. Lol.
Big 4 usually breaks away at the M1 level, but I wouldn't say its significantly more. Probably a big diff at the SM and PPMD levels
I would find on a diligence project, at B4, we’d have an associate, a SA, a manager, a SM, and a partner, all of whom would join the calls and all of whom would edit the report (after the associate drafted it), so often people would justify their time by rewording paragraphs but not saying anything new. At smaller firms it’s an associate OR SA, a manager OR SM, and a partner, and there is less duplication of work.
? Lol.
Those firms need to pay more to compete with big 4 in hiring people.
They spend less in tech, training and marketing so they can pay their employees better. Just think about how much they spend on making all the nice training videos. Plus the partners may make less.
Overhead and partner comp.
