Fish Fam - I am a 25 yo (M) planning to come to the US (from India) on a B1 to support my sis who is having a baby. Do you foresee any issues at PoE? Do I need to bring any proofs? Should I book return tickets as well (was planning not to due to uncertainties around Covid) but don't want any issues with immigration. Thanks!

You'll be fine for the most part. Having a return ticket does help but I know flight availability hasn't opened up for more than 3 months out. In the past some of my aunts and uncles had rude immigration encounters at the airport when they say they're here to take care of the baby. The officer always asked why they thought the US didn't have nannies or qualified people to take care of the newborn. So usually, it is recommended that you just say you're here to visit the country or to see your sister. But with every POE and every officer YMMV

I agree with the above comment. Every officer has their own style of questions. Visiting family to spend time with them is usually a better framed reason that specifically saying baby sitting. Sponsorship for the trip and you intentions to show your have a reason to go back shortly are 2 other areas which they usually ask questions around.

Read thoroughly the entry requirements. Also, if you are taking a stopover in Canada, note that you need a special form (for Canadian immigration). Without that form, they won’t let you board the next leg of your flight to the US

Need advice: baby is 8 months. We started her in daycare at 6 months. Liked the daycare but concerned because not all caregivers were vaccinated. Liked daycare overall because we wanted to not manage anyone, socialization, etc. We got more nervous with Covid as daycare did not mandate after FDA approval and other mandates came out. We found a nanny share and informed the daycare we are pulling her out - the director calls me and says the remaining teachers have received the 1st dose. Cont.

I put in my resignation earlier this week and the district just told me, it will only be approved once someone else hired. Feeling stretched thin and have always had the impression it’s bad to not be contributing to savings regularly. Thinking if I’m paying for school it’s ok to be less aggressive with savings. Looking for input.
