I am a tax manager right now but not sure if I like tax enough to continue along this career path. I like the management aspect of things though. I am interested in doing consulting (like strategy consulting or management consulting). Is it possible to switch at this point? Would getting an MBA help? Or is it better to climb up the ladder and then leave for an industry job with a more management or operational role (and not as tax related)? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Capco: I had my final interview this Monday for the role of Senior React Developer with one of Capco partners, I got message from my recruiter that he got positive feedback and he is working on formal update. I haven't heard anything after that. Does anyone know how much they usually take to give you offer?

A couple years ago, I interviewed with a company A, accepted and offer. My current firm came back with a counter that I accepted. So, I turned down the prior offer after having accepted it. Company A reached out last year for another role but I said I’m not looking.

I’m done with my current firm and I have no motivation to stay here anymore. Thoughts on reaching back out to company A?

How common is it to accept a new job (internally at current employer) and to not receive a raise or promotion/title change until you “prove that you can do the job”? Personally I feel like I’m already doing the job and picked it up much quicker than if they hired externally, and probably would had to pay that external candidate more.

Interviewed for a role. 4 interviews total. 2/4 interviews went extremely well (Including 1 with hiring manager) . 1/4 I’d consider went fine. 1/4 not great (with the hiring managers manager), lacked confidence in my responses and certain questions I just didn’t have any experience. Pretty much tried to BS an answer.

I went from marketing coordinator to marketing and business development manager within 10 months of working at this company. They offered me this position and I expected a raise, but I didn’t get one. This happened in May and they said that they will review my work in August. Has this ever happened to anyone? I’m really overworked and I’m the only one in the department too. The company is small about 400 employees but I find myself really stretched and underpaid.
