Hi everyone - so I joined a new firm about 6 months ago from audit to financial due diligence. Since joining I’ve only been staffed on about 5 deals of which 2 died. Also, after a deal wraps up I’m usually on the bench for about 1.5 weeks before I get picked up again. Is this normal? I just don’t want to get to 1 year and feel like I still don’t know much. TIA

For me a typical day looks like this 9 am- sign in and check emails 930-11 : look for a new job 11-2 lunch and nap 2-3 : sometimes meetings, mostly begging people for billable work 3-4:30 - proposal work if I have it or more job hunting 5-9pm family time and dinner 10-3am - netflix, videogames, cry myself to sleep

Am I seen as “unprofessional” or ”ungrateful” if I roll off a project that extended me 3 times already? I have a project that wants to staff me. I am new to consulting and I was in industry for 2 years. My career counselor seemed concerned as to why I wanted to roll off a project that was not contributing to building new skill sets.
